About The Position

THUMBWAR is hiring a Senior Media Manager to lead Media Asset Management operations supporting live events and production workflows. The role focuses on ensuring media is ingested, logged, and moved efficiently through the pipeline, while maintaining accurate metadata and asset availability during high-pressure broadcasts. The manager serves as a connection between clients, production teams, and engineering, and mentors a high-performing MAM team.

The position also partners with Engineering to test, maintain, and upgrade media infrastructure; creates technical documentation and training guides; and leads projects that improve operations. The role is suited to a workflow strategist with deep MAM expertise who can remain composed under pressure, understand technical systems, prioritize client needs, and continually optimize processes.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Broadcast, or a related technical field.
• At least 5 years of hands-on experience in Media Asset Management.
• At least 5 years of experience in a technical broadcast or digital media environment.
• Deep expertise in the content lifecycle, from camera capture and ingest through archive and distribution.
• Experience working in fast-paced, high-pressure live sports, news, or entertainment environments.
• Mastery of MAM software and digital delivery tools, and a strong understanding of server and storage infrastructure.

Nice To Haves

• Experience managing technical projects or system migrations.
• Familiarity with AI-driven tagging, automated QC workflows, or cloud-native MAM solutions.
• Strong ties to the Los Angeles media production community.

Responsibilities

• Lead daily Media Asset Management operations, with a focus on live event support and efficient media ingestion, logging, and pipeline movement.
• Coordinate among clients, production teams, and engineering to maintain metadata accuracy and asset availability during broadcasts.
• Mentor and develop the MAM team, establishing high standards for technical excellence.
• Partner with Engineering to stress-test, maintain, and upgrade media infrastructure.
• Create and maintain technical documentation and training guides.
• Oversee special projects that improve operational processes.
