Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Construction Management, or a related field; Mechanical Engineering degree strongly preferred.
  • 10-20 years of experience with an mechanical contractor or general contractor, ideally in a procurement or project management role.
  • Demonstrated expertise in mechanical procurement or a closely related discipline within the construction industry.
  • Strong skills in negotiation, data analysis, and organizational planning.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects and meet tight deadlines in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with a collaborative and team-oriented mindset.
  • Familiarity with construction project workflows and procurement software is highly desirable.
  • Adaptable and responsive to changes in industry trends, market conditions, and project demands.
  • Self-motivated with strong organizational skills and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement effective procurement strategies for mechanical equipment and services in coordination with internal stakeholders.
  • Identify and pursue new procurement and revenue opportunities to support company growth.
  • Evaluate and mitigate risks by partnering with reliable, high-quality vendors and suppliers.
  • Oversee daily operations of the mechanical procurement team, ensuring efficiency and accuracy.
  • Review and validate mechanical contractors’ bills of materials and labor bids for completeness and accuracy.
  • Analyze and compare vendor quotes to ensure cost-effective purchasing decisions.
  • Perform material takeoffs, cost estimates, and pricing for current and upcoming projects.
  • Collect, review, and submit product submittals in accordance with project requirements.
  • Prepare detailed product lists and quantities for purchase orders and change orders.
  • Negotiate terms, track orders, and ensure timely delivery of materials as per project schedules.
  • Approve and monitor invoices to ensure alignment with procurement agreements.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key external partners to support the delivery of Freedom Source materials.
