About The Position

As a Mechanical Engineer in Topsoe’s Hardware Technology team, you will support the sale, service, and installation of Topsoe hardware projects for downstream and new energy applications in North and South America, primarily in the U.S. The role is client-facing and requires a solution-oriented mindset, strong stakeholder management, and a firm commitment to safety, business standards and ethics. In this role, you will advise clients during construction or turnaround phases, oversee installation tasks, and make critical onsite decisions. You will collaborate with clients, contractors, and vendors to solve project design and scheduling challenges, manage non-conformance reports, design and review 3D models of proprietary hardware, perform mechanical calculations, and organize shop inspections to verify fabrication accuracy and design tolerances. You will also support project tracking, SAP entry, commercial proposals, planning activities, and prototyping work using 3D printing. The role includes travel of approximately 25% annually, with possible additional travel during the training period.

Requirements

  • B.S. in Mechanical Engineering
  • Able to work independently with a self-motivated approach
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Positive and personable attitude
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and tasks simultaneously
  • Comfortable working directly with clients and co-workers in the field
  • Strong onsite communication, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills
  • Strong computer skills
  • Willing to travel approximately 25%
  • Comfortable entering confined spaces, working at heights, climbing ladders, and wearing the appropriate PPE for the task
  • An active TWIC card, or the ability to obtain one

Nice To Haves

  • One or more years of experience
  • Familiarity with Autodesk Inventor
