About The Position

Entegris is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to join their Manufacturing Engineering team in Burnet, TX. This role is crucial for sustaining and continuously improving highly complex containers used for specialty chemical products in semiconductor manufacturing. The engineer will be responsible for the hardware work cell, supporting daily operations, data-driven planning, cross-functional leadership, process optimization, and strategic decision-making through quantitative analysis of manufacturing performance, capacity utilization, quality metrics, and process effectiveness.

Requirements

  • Bachelors of Science in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering or related field
  • 5+ years of experience in manufacturing, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement of process equipment
  • Experience with stainless steel hazardous material vessel design, valving, orbital welding a plus
  • Understanding of Statistical Process Control (SPC) as well as statistical data analysis for application to Qualification and Validation.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead structured problem solving using tools such as 8D, FMEA, 5 Why, RCA, etc
  • Aptitude for leadership to drive cross-functional project execution and problem solving while maintaining positive/collaborative working relationships
  • Ability to present technical data to all levels of the organization
  • Ability to travel domestically and/or internationally in support of various engineering projects/escalations (<5%)

  • Experience with stainless steel hazardous material vessel design, valving, orbital welding
  • Experience with Minitab

Responsibilities

  • Lead continuous improvement projects individually and with cross-functional teams, using robust change control processes and statistical data analysis for qualification.
  • Utilize statistical process control (SPC) tools to identify improvement opportunities and maintain internal control limits, negotiating limits with key customers.
  • Support strategic business and operational improvements through data-driven analysis of manufacturing performance, capacity utilization, quality metrics, and process effectiveness.
  • Complete failure analysis to identify root causes, develop and implement corrective/preventative actions, and manage material disposition for non-conformances.
  • Collaborate with Customer Quality Engineers (CQEs) on reporting findings and action closures, using the 8D template when applicable.
  • Employ structured problem-solving tools (e.g., 8D, 5 Why, RCA, Fishbone) to resolve product and process defects.
  • Collaborate with the CQE organization to support customer requests and audits.
  • Maintain and improve key process documentation (work instructions, FMEAs, control plans) and incorporate updates.
  • Maintain critical master data in ERP systems, including BOMs, routings, and material master information.
  • Leverage capacity data to identify bottlenecks and expansion opportunities, developing business cases and financial justifications for capital investments.
  • Execute capacity expansion projects to completion.
  • Support production by troubleshooting equipment or process breakdowns, ensuring robust PM plans and critical spares are identified and stocked.
  • Communicate effectively across departments (marketing, R&D, facilities, operations) to drive results.
  • Contribute to departmental direction in partnership with team members and leadership.
  • Mentor personnel in problem-solving methodologies, data analysis, performance improvement, and process standardization.
