About The Position

ASRC Federal Facilities Logistics (AFFL) is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to support NASA’s Goddard Space Flight Center in Greenbelt MD, under the Repair, Operations, Maintenance and Engineering (ROME) contract. This role involves researching, developing, planning, and designing mechanical and electromechanical products and systems, potentially including nanotechnology. The engineer will oversee activities related to the fabrication, operation, application, installation, and repair of these systems. This includes a wide range of equipment such as electric generators, internal combustion engines, steam and gas turbines, refrigeration and air-conditioning equipment, machine tools, material handling systems, elevators, escalators, industrial production equipment, and manufacturing robots. Supervisory and paraprofessional roles are excluded.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree and a minimum of 8-10 years of experience in a related or applicable field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Professional Engineer license or other applicable professional registration.
Registration/licensure shall be recognized by the Maryland and/or Virginia Department of Licensing and Regulation.

Responsibilities

Researches, develops, plans, and designs mechanical and electromechanical products and systems that may involve nanotechnology.
