About The Position

Safe Fleet is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to support product development and manufacturing integration. The role works with internal teams, customers, and suppliers to develop marketable product designs, adapt products to customer use, and launch new products into manufacturing. It provides direct engineering and project support, helps train plant personnel on assembly, and contributes to improved material utilization and manufacturing throughput.

Requirements

At least 3 years of experience with mechanical systems and lean manufacturing.
Working proficiency with related CAD software.
Ability to use the company ERP system.
Demonstrated analytical, design, problem-solving, project management, technical, customer service, teamwork, organizational, planning, quality, safety, attendance, and dependability competencies.

Nice To Haves

Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering preferred.
Local candidates strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

Integrate newly designed products into the manufacturing area.
Assist in training plant personnel in the assembly of new products.
Provide direct engineering support to integrate new product concepts into manufacturing processes.
Use project management tools to support product launches through product development and integration.
Interface with customers and suppliers to develop working knowledge of products and processes.
Use knowledge of customer and supplier needs to help develop design concepts into marketable products, including modifications for specific customer use.
Support company profit goals through engineering methods and improved designs that increase material utilization or manufacturing throughput.
Use related CAD software and the company ERP system.
Provide assigned project support and meet customer and internal timelines using engineering and project management tools.
Perform other related tasks assigned by the Engineering Manager.
