About The Position

As a Senior Mechanical Engineer, you’ll turn market needs into practical, manufacturable products. You’ll lead mechanical design work from concept through testing and production, using design for manufacturing and assembly principles to create 3D CAD models, drawings, bills of materials, tools, fixtures, and test systems. Working closely with project managers and manufacturing teams, you’ll help set realistic timelines, solve design and production challenges, and improve engineering standards. This role offers the opportunity to directly impact product performance, quality, and how new designs reach the market.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or a related field.
  • Minimum of five years of experience designing mechanical products or equipment and supporting them through manufacturing.
  • Proficient in CAD and engineering drawing skills, including experience creating production-ready documentation and bills of materials. SolidWorks preferred.
  • Data Simulation – Ansys preferred.
  • GD&T knowledge – knows metrology best practices and is familiar with CMMs
  • Good understanding of commonly used manufacturing and tooling processes and how to effectively design parts for them
  • MS Office proficiency with high-level Excel
  • Experience in a machining or basic manufacturing environment
  • Ability to provide a leadership role in a team environment.
  • Possess strong verbal, written, and organizational skills essential to professional communication.
  • Demonstrated attention to detail.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Organized multitasking.
  • Entrepreneurial spirit – ability to see the complete vision of the product from concept to user experience.
  • Utilizes AI or is curious to incorporate AI into processes
  • Drive to expand knowledge and develop new skills.
  • Mechanical Hands-On Skills – ability to disassemble and assemble tools with little to no assistance.
  • Must be available for occasional domestic and international travel (5 %).

Responsibilities

  • Facilitates product design and engineering efforts based on company vision and market needs.
  • Properly uses Design for Manufacturing (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA)
  • Performs a wide variety of calculations to ensure feasibility of tools, fixtures, and test system designs.
  • Works with the Project Manager to develop and adjust project timelines based on project priorities and resources.
  • Develop 3D CAD Models, manufacturing drawings, Bills of Materials, and other required documentation.
  • Communicate project needs and timelines with the manufacturing facility.
  • Conduct component and assembly inspections and systematically perform product failure analysis.
  • Implement new company engineering standards and procedures.
  • Perform data acquisition, analysis, and report generation.
  • Identify potential execution issues and present risk-mitigation options to the Executive team.
