About The Position

Our client is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer (PE) to support offshore oil & gas facilities across the full project lifecycle. This role will be responsible for delivering mechanical engineering support from early concept and FEED through detailed design, execution, and commissioning activities. The position requires a strong background in offshore facilities, multidisciplinary coordination, and hands-on execution across both office and field environments.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (ABET-accredited program required)
  • 15+ years of mechanical engineering experience in oil & gas, with strong offshore exposure
  • Proven experience supporting FEED through execution on brownfield and/or greenfield facilities
  • Strong knowledge of rotating and static equipment
  • Familiarity with industry codes and standards (API, ASME, etc.)
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, with working knowledge of Word, PowerPoint, and Project
  • Strong communication, organizational, and multitasking capabilities
  • Willingness to travel (~10%) and support field activities as needed

Responsibilities

  • Support conceptual design, FEED, and detailed engineering for offshore and onshore facilities
  • Develop equipment specifications and datasheets for rotating and static equipment (pumps, compressors, vessels, tanks, turbines, etc.)
  • Prepare technical requisitions, bid evaluations, and vendor coordination documentation
  • Perform core mechanical calculations including: Hydraulics, Relief and vent sizing, PSV and control valve sizing, Tank venting
  • Review and develop P&IDs, process flow diagrams, layouts, and offshore modification packages
  • Conduct engineering studies, debottlenecking efforts, and risk assessments (e.g., API 14C compliance)
  • Interface directly with vendors, procurement teams, and multidisciplinary engineering groups
  • Support construction, commissioning, startup, and troubleshooting activities
  • Participate in site visits, fabrication/shop inspections, and field execution support
  • Monitor schedule, budget, and scope performance across assigned deliverables
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to junior engineers
