The Senior Mechanical Engineer is responsible for projects related to new cost savings opportunities, including creating standard work for design standardization across all BEC products. This position reports to the Senior Manager Value Engineering is part of Value Engineering Team located in Chaska, MN and will be an onsite position. Requirements

  • BS in Mechanical Engineering with a minimum of 5+ years OR a Master’s degree with 3+ years or an equivalent combination of education and experience to perform at this level.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, including tolerance analysis.
  • Ability to work independently and in cross-functional teams.
  • Strong CAD skills (SOLIDWORKS), GD&T, and documentation.

Nice To Haves

  • Mechanical systems design, build, and test experience in machine automation, robotics, liquid handling, fluidics, or laboratory instrumentation
  • Understanding of Product Development Process, Life Cycles Management, and Manufacturing.
  • Proven experience in Simulation and timing analysis

Responsibilities

  • Work collaboratively across electrical, optical, fluid, and process engineering fields to design and sustain diagnostics and life sciences instruments and technology.
  • Design and analyze mechanical systems to achieve product specifications.
  • Develop and maintain projects through product conception, definition, design, documentation, release to production, and sustainment.
  • Create and present project financial, timeline and technical reports to peers and management.
