About The Position

The Senior Mechanical Engineer at Hyper Solutions plays a critical role in designing and supporting mechanical components and enclosures for power distribution systems used in data center environments. This position contributes to the development of reliable, high-quality products that meet customer expectations while supporting a fast-paced and growing business. This role works closely with electrical engineering, manufacturing, and external partners to ensure designs are practical, manufacturable, and aligned with project timelines. The Senior Mechanical Engineer also provides technical leadership and mentorship to junior team members while supporting multiple concurrent projects. This position is well-suited for an experienced engineer with strong CAD expertise, deep knowledge of mechanical design for electrical systems, and the ability to lead through both technical execution and collaboration.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering
  • 10+ years of relevant mechanical engineering experience
  • Proficiency in SolidWorks
  • Working knowledge of applicable standards such as UL1062, UL891, and NEC
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings
  • Strong attention to detail, organization, and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and collaborate across teams

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with MRP/ERP systems
  • Familiarity with AutoCAD
  • SolidWorks Certification
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license
  • Experience with SolidWorks PDM
  • Experience working with contract manufacturing or third-party production partners
  • Demonstrated experience leading or mentoring engineering team members

Responsibilities

  • Design and develop mechanical components and enclosures for power distribution products using CAD tools
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to support electrical system designs for data center infrastructure, including RPPs, power distribution, and related systems
  • Create and maintain detailed drawings, models, and product documentation
  • Develop and manage bills of materials (BOMs) for products and assemblies
  • Support project timelines by delivering designs in accordance with deadlines
  • Collaborate with external partners, contractors, and vendors to support successful project execution
  • Ensure product designs meet customer expectations, industry standards, and manufacturing requirements
  • Mentor and support junior and mid-level Mechanical Engineers
  • Capture design updates and redlines and generate Engineering Change Orders (ECOs)
  • Support product quality and consistency through accurate documentation and revision control
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of design processes, documentation, and product standardization
  • Coordinate with third-party manufacturing partners to support production and design alignment
  • Support cross-functional collaboration across distributed teams and time zones
