About The Position

Schneider Electric USA, Inc. seeks a Senior Mechanical Engineer in Hopkins, SC. This role involves the design and application of Low Voltage switchgear and switchboards based on customer plans and specifications. Responsibilities include auditing the Bill of Material (BOM) for standard product offerings before manufacturing, completing new designs to meet customer needs outside of standard product offerings, and utilizing 3D modeling software for design and modeling of switchgear and switchboards. The engineer will also be involved in projects aimed at improving product quality, efficiency, and robustness, maintaining schedules, and ensuring a high level of customer service. Interaction with field sales personnel, project managers, end users, and plant manufacturing associates is expected. This position is remote eligible up to 2 days per week.

Requirements

  • Master’s or Bachelor’s degree, or foreign equivalent, in Mechanical Engineering.
  • Progressive, post-bachelor’s experience (2 years with Master’s or 4 years with Bachelor’s) in mechanical design engineering in a manufacturing environment, or related occupation.
  • 2 years using CAD software in a professional environment.
  • 2 years interaction with field sales personnel, project managers, or customers.
  • 2 years of mechanical design within the limitations of manufacturing tools.
  • 2 years creating of technical drawings for fabrication.
  • 2 years of experience mentoring and creating training documents.

Responsibilities

  • Design and application of Low Voltage switchgear and switchboards based on customer plans and specifications.
