The Senior Layout Designer will provide engineering deliverables and technical support. This Produce detailed engineering deliverables for heavy industrial related projects. Prepare contract engineering drawings and record keeping. Liaise with external and internal customers to ensure quality and timely outcomes.

Requirements

  • Previous professional experience must include heavy industrial plant layout and process and utility piping system routing.
  • Familiarity with ASME piping codes is expected.
  • Extensive experience with 2D and 3D CAD software is required.
  • Sound design and modeling skills for plant layout, piping design and detailing.
  • Thorough knowledge of piping components and materials.
  • Sound knowledge of industry or regulatory standards and codes as required for piping design.
  • Sound knowledge of design systems and workflows as they relate to the piping discipline.
  • Thorough understanding of PFDs and P&IDs.
  • Diploma or equivalent in engineering design or drafting.
  • 10+ years of experience in either mechanical or piping design.
  • Ability to motivate individuals to attain quality, cost and schedule objectives.
  • Strong deliverable focus, ability to plan the work.
  • A high degree of understanding of inter-discipline dependencies related to the discipline.
  • Well-developed communication, negotiation and interpersonal skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with data-centric or BIM systems is preferred.
  • Experience in both mechanical and piping design is preferred.
  • Site experience in a technical role is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide engineering deliverables and technical support.
  • Produce detailed engineering deliverables for heavy industrial related projects.
  • Prepare contract engineering drawings and record keeping.
  • Liaise with external and internal customers to ensure quality and timely outcomes.
  • Strict adherence to Hatch and Client drafting standards will be expected.
  • Isometric production control and monitoring.
  • Multidisciplinary coordination.
