About The Position

This role is for a Senior Mechanical Designer to join a dynamic team experiencing growth in the Defence sector, working on Assystem-led projects across UK offices with flexible hybrid working available.

Requirements

• HND in an applicable engineering/design discipline preferred or HNC with relevant experience.
• Extensive experience in mechanical design in line with BS/ISO standards.
• Proficiency in 2D and 3D CAD software.
• Experience with design for manufacture, pipework, pressure vessels, and structural steelwork.
• Experience with organisation and checking detailed drawings

Nice To Haves

• Experience with Autodesk Revit and GD&T.
• Familiarity with BS8888 and ASME Y14.5 drawing standards.

Responsibilities

• Develop complete design concepts, scheme definitions, and full detailed design solutions using CAD software, including Inventor.
• Work on piping systems, mechanical flow diagrams, and the production of general arrangement, assembly, component, and fabrication drawings.
• Ensure designs adhere to the AEIL Quality Management System, delivering work within agreed time scales, costs, and quality standards.
