Senior Mechanical Designer
About The Position
Working under the Mechanical Design Lead, your team consists of multiple mechanical designers. The mechanical team is responsible for our product catalogue. This includes the sustaining of our product line, as well as the continuous development of our machine. This group is responsible for managing and solving all ECRs as well as working closely with the Product Management group to work on the roadmap for our product. This includes new revisions of machines, new generations of machines, new options development, and many more. The leader will also be asked to collaborate with the controls team. We are looking for an experienced mechanical designer with leadership ability that can supervise a group of designers while influencing the quality of the design.
Requirements
- College Diploma in relevant field
- Experience as a mechanical designer is required
- Strong knowledge of MS Office Suit
- Being functional in French and English is required
Nice To Haves
- Bachelors Mechanical Engineering is an asset
- Machine design experience is an asset
- Leadership experience is an asset
- Knowledge of ERP (Syspro) / Database, AutoCad, SolidWorks, CAD Talk, and ePDM is an asset
Responsibilities
- Planning and delegating the work for the team in collaboration with the Product Manager
- Collaborate with the Product Manager & Engineering Manager to define our product roadmap and project plan
- Guiding designers through their projects by reviewing and approving the design and making sure the quality is up to standard
- Working with other departments & the engineering team to deliver the best product possible
- Help build and define our product catalogue with our modular approach to machine design
- Provide proactive, timely and accurate support to the team in the form of preparing various documents, reports, track KPI’s etc.
