Under general supervision, the mechanically savvy individual we seek will perform a variety of electrical, plumbing and carpentry work, handle general building issues and ensure all equipment runs properly and efficiently. Responsibilities include completing work orders involving the replacement of electrical components, repairing plumbing fixtures, repairing/replacing ceiling tiles, repairing leaking roofs, general carpentry, and other related activities. This role also involves building new storage space, office space, sidewalks, retaining walls, and hallways, as well as inspecting rooftops, walls, walkways, light fixtures, drains, etc., for preventive maintenance needs. The mechanic will troubleshoot and perform various electrical work, locate the cause of general building and process system malfunctions, and handle various plumbing tasks involving a variety of materials (copper, PVC, brass and stainless materials). Additionally, the role requires evaluating refrigeration system performance and making necessary repairs, organizing work assignments and small projects where more than one mechanic is needed, monitoring Building Management System (BMS) and Isensix System, maintaining all records and logs, preparing various reports, and handling other related functions as needed. The mechanic will rotate with other mechanics and be “on call”.
