About The Position

Under general supervision, the mechanically savvy individual we seek will perform a variety of electrical, plumbing and carpentry work, handle general building issues and ensure all equipment runs properly and efficiently. This role involves completing work orders, building new structures, inspecting for preventive maintenance, troubleshooting malfunctions, and handling various plumbing and refrigeration tasks. The mechanic will also monitor building management systems, maintain records, and prepare reports. This position is eligible for overtime and offers a shift incentive. The mechanic will rotate with other mechanics and be “on call”.

Requirements

High School Diploma/GED
2 years’ experience handling general building issues along with the repair and maintenance of equipment
Ability to operate hand/power tools properly and safely
Strong problem-solving skills
Strong organizational skills
Strong multi-tasking skills
Strong oral/written communication skills
Valid driver’s license

Responsibilities

Completing work orders involving the replacement of electrical components, repairing plumbing fixtures, repairing/replacing ceiling tiles, repairing leaking roofs, general carpentry, and other related activities
Building new storage space, office space, sidewalks, retaining walls, and hallways
Inspecting rooftops, walls, walkways, light fixtures, windows, drains, etc, for preventive maintenance needs
Troubleshooting and performing various electrical work
Locating the cause of general building and process system malfunctions
Handling various plumbing tasks involving a variety of materials (copper, PVC, brass and stainless materials)
Evaluating refrigeration system performance and making necessary repairs
Organizing work assignments and small projects where more than one mechanic is needed
Monitor Building management System (BMS) and Isensix System
Maintaining all records and logs
Preparing various reports
Handling other related functions as needed
Rotate with other mechanics and be “on call”
