JOB SUMMARY: Perform a variety of complex installations, maintenance and repair of on-line electrical mechanical pneumatic and hydraulic equipment systems in two or more specialty areas: electrical, PLC/ Control, HVAC/ refrigeration, etc. May support mechanics on projects or in the absence of supervisor.

Requirements

  • High school Diploma or equivalent.
  • Specialized vocational training with expertise in one or more areas: electrical, PLC/ Controls, HVAC/ refrigeration. etc.
  • Good communication skills, both written and verbal, basic math skills, a must.
  • Familiarity with OSHA/NFPA/NEC standards to include the use and understanding of Safety Data Sheets (SDS).
  • Must maintain safe work practices and housekeeping standards.
  • Ability to grasp, bend, lift, or otherwise move items weighing up to 75 pounds
  • Five to Seven years experience in the installation, maintenance and repair of a variety of equipment including mechanical, electronic, pneumatic and hydraulic control systems.
  • Skilled in reading schematics.

Nice To Haves

  • Proficient in Outlook, CMMS, IRIS, ICW a plus.
  • Certified in all Power Equipment Ex: forklift, boom lifts, scissor lifts etc.
  • Problem solver and trouble shooting skills.
  • Demonstrated leadership or supervisor experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Maintains safe, efficient and proper operation of variety of Distribution Center equipment and systems.
  • Locates and diagnoses complex equipment failures, replaces defective components and performs troubleshooting using a variety of hand, power and test equipment, detailed drawings, diagrams, sketches, specification, etc. to ensure timely corrective action.
  • Completes and maintains appropriate maintenance, inventory and repair logs as necessary.
  • Estimate costs, prepares requisitions as required and contacts vendors to order parts and services as necessary.
  • Recommends, and implements improvements to equipment, operations and procedures.
  • May perform duties of all mechanics if necessary.
  • Leads and guides other maintenance associate’s in safety procedures, installation, maintenance and repairs of equipment and systems.
  • Performs special projects or duties as assigned.
  • Performs maintenance service in plumbing, carpentry, painting, electrical, and minor construction.
  • Perform preventive maintenance on mechanical and electrical equipment such as motors, pumps, conveyors, hydraulics, and safety devices.
  • Troubleshoot and maintain PLC/Controls systems.
  • Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair pneumatic systems to ensure optimal performance and reliability.
