About The Position

Odyssey has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Acquisition Program Materials Engineer supporting Air Force Life Cycle Management Center Agile Weapons Division ARRW program (AFLCMC/EBX ARRW). This position provides the knowledge and experience to efficiently and effectively deliver weapons systems engineering capabilities in support of the acquisition process. This position is located onsite at Eglin AFB, Florida.

Requirements

  • Must be a US Citizen
  • Current Secret Clearance with ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret clearance
  • Bachelor of Science degree in related discipline and 10 years of relevant experience; OR Master of Science degree in related discipline and 5 years of relevant experience; OR PhD in related discipline and 3 years of relevant experience
  • Experience supporting DoD acquisition programs or similar engineering environments
  • Experience supporting system development, integration, and/or sustainment activities
  • Technical Skills: Risk management and technical problem-solving
  • Technical Skills: Configuration management and technical documentation
  • Interpersonal Skills: Ability to operate independently and as part of a multidisciplinary engineering team
  • Interpersonal Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Interpersonal Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Nice To Haves

  • Current Top Secret clearance
  • Experience with armament systems (air-to-air, air-to-surface munitions, missiles, or related systems)
  • Knowledge of DoD acquisition lifecycle processes and DoDI 5000 series

Responsibilities

  • Assist with the design, development, qualification, and testing of warheads, including mechanical design, manufacturing, energetic fills, and aircraft integration.
  • Support penetration modeling (such as Penetration Curve/PENCURV), fragmentation and penetration performance analysis, fatigue and stress analysis, and insensitive munitions work in accordance with MIL‑STD‑810G and MIL‑STD‑2105C.
  • Provide materials engineering support, including identifying suitable materials, advising on material composition and processing, and developing or improving fabrication and processing techniques.
  • Perform testing and evaluation of materials, corrosion control, failure analysis, and contribute to developing or revising inspection techniques, specification standards, and maintenance procedures across the product life cycle.
