This position is for a Senior Materials and Processes Engineer to join the JETSII Contract with ERC, a teammate company. The role involves advising, guiding, and consulting on Materials & Processes (M&P) requirements for both intravehicular (IVA) and extravehicular (EVA) environments. This includes materials selection, process control and qualification, design for corrosion prevention, electrical bonding, flammability, toxic offgassing, and process specifications. The engineer will also assist in reviewing and developing hardware, analysis, operations, hazard reviews, anomaly resolution, requirements verification, re-flight assessments, and flight acceptance testing. The role requires formulating and presenting information to program boards, implementing M&P system requirements into hardware design, and developing verification and validation plans. Input will be provided to program/project specifications to ensure appropriate materials requirements are incorporated. The engineer will review project/program documentation, specifications, and engineering drawings to ensure M&P requirements are met for spaceflight hardware, assess vendor processes, and provide recommendations for qualification and acceptance testing. Support for inspection and manufacturing processes for human space flight systems is also a key responsibility.
