About The Position

The AI Education Project (aiEDU) is a non-profit organization dedicated to preparing students for a world where AI is prevalent. They collaborate with educational systems to enhance AI literacy and readiness through curriculum, professional development, and strategic partnerships. The Senior Marketing & Communications Lead will be responsible for building and managing aiEDU's content and media engine, transforming the organization's work into reach, influence, and partnerships. This role involves creating high-quality marketing materials, designing AI-accelerated workflows for efficiency, and ensuring consistent on-brand communication across the organization. Key responsibilities include content development and production, distribution and audience growth, media relations and thought leadership, and aligning marketing and communications efforts organization-wide. The Lead will work with internal teams and external stakeholders, including funders, partners, and education systems, to refine messaging, support outreach to district leaders, and enhance aiEDU's presence across traditional and AI-driven channels, including AI search. A crucial part of the role is establishing a practical measurement system to track outcomes and AI-era visibility, informing strategy evolution. This is an opportunity for a strategic, hands-on marketer proficient in AI, skilled in building systems, and passionate about shaping aiEDU's narrative and impact.

Requirements

  • At least 5 years of experience in marketing, communications, and/or content development.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Experience executing multi-channel communications campaigns with demonstrated, measurable outcomes.
  • Hands-on AI power user: comfortable using AI tools daily and building prompts, workflows, or simple systems for team productivity.
  • Comfort managing multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.
  • A strategic, collaborative, and creative thinker who can adapt and prioritize.
  • Working knowledge of artificial intelligence and its intersection with policy, ethics, workforce, and education.
  • Proficiency in communications and marketing tools (e.g., Mailchimp, Airtable, video editing software, MuckRack).

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with the shift toward AI search and answer engines (AEO/GEO) and how organizations earn visibility in AI-generated answers.

Responsibilities

  • Design and execute multi-channel campaigns to market aiEDU's products, services, and events, driving partnerships, downloads, views, participation, and revenue.
  • Support partnership work with school districts and systems by helping reach and engage district leaders through nurture journeys.
  • Create compelling content across various channels (LinkedIn, Substack, web copy, blog posts, newsletters) and build AI-assisted workflows for faster, more consistent content production.
  • Oversee end-to-end production of aiEDU Studios content, ensuring high quality, on-brand output, and building production workflows for content repurposing.
  • Maintain editorial calendars, production timelines, and content workflows.
  • Plan distribution and repurposing strategies for all flagship assets.
  • Grow aiEDU's owned audiences (Substack, newsletter, LinkedIn) against clear reach and engagement goals.
  • Activate executive and staff voices as primary distribution channels.
  • Develop partner, funder, and ecosystem relationships as distribution paths for co-created content.
  • Position aiEDU and its leaders as authorities on AI literacy and readiness through earned media, podcasts, op-eds, and speaking opportunities.
  • Maintain media lists and relationships, and support rapid-response communications.
  • Build aiEDU's visibility in AI search and answer engines by structuring content for citation.
  • Shape co-branded communications, announcements, and shared storytelling with partners and funders.
  • Build and maintain an AI-first infrastructure for marketing, including workflows, prompt libraries, and templates.
  • Identify opportunities for AI automation and acceleration in marketing tasks.
  • Document and steward MarCom standards for organizational use.
  • Develop internal communications to keep staff informed and aligned on messaging and priorities.
  • Create centralized, on-brand MarCom materials and enable self-service for other teams.
  • Draft talking points, briefs, and background materials for executive and advocacy support.
  • Monitor media, policy, and education conversations relevant to AI and education.
  • Own a practical measurement layer tracking traditional performance and AI-era visibility, translating data into strategic recommendations.
