About The Position

This position connects marketing, communications, program execution, and dealer engagement to help dealers meet their Tech Cap & Cap expectations and execute against their technician attraction, hiring, development, and retention plans. This role also serves as the global program owner for the Global Dealer Technician Challenge (GDTC), Caterpillar’s premier technician competition and recognition program. The position provides leadership across all aspects of the three-year competition cycle, including program governance, stakeholder management, marketing strategy, communications, event execution, budget management, and business results.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or within lieu of a degree 5 years of experience is acceptable

Responsibilities

  • Leads the planning, development, and execution of strategic marketing initiatives that support dealer technician growth plans and help dealers deliver the right technician, at the right time, to provide a superior customer service experience.
  • Partners with Technician Growth Consultants and program owners to align marketing strategy, communication priorities, and dealer-facing messaging to technician growth objectives.
  • Develops and executes campaigns that help dealers activate programs, strengthen technician pipelines, close capability gaps, and support workforce capacity needs.
  • Leads awareness efforts that elevate the technician profession and strengthen Caterpillar’s employment value proposition.
  • Coordinates with Global Dealer Learning’s multimedia team to develop photo, video, and digital assets that support campaign execution and dealer engagement.
  • Defines communication plans and performance indicators to measure campaign effectiveness and business impact.
  • Serves as the global program owner for the Global Dealer Technician Challenge (GDTC), with responsibility for strategic planning, governance, budget management, execution, and stakeholder engagement.
  • Leads all aspects of a global technician competition across the full three-year competition cycle, requiring sustained ownership and a three-year commitment to remain in the role from upfront planning through final event execution.
  • Manages a multi-year program budget, including supplier contracts, marketing spend, event costs, and participant experience investments.
  • Provides continuous leadership throughout the full GDTC lifecycle to ensure business objectives, stakeholder expectations, and participant experience goals are met.
  • Builds and maintains strong relationships with Caterpillar business units, Caterpillar dealers, and external service providers.
  • Partners with Global Dealer Learning teams, Technician Growth Consultants, dealers, and business partners to align programs and communications to dealer technician capability and capacity needs, attraction and hiring plans, capability gaps, development priorities, retention needs, and capacity growth expectations.
  • Leads cross-functional teams to successfully execute complex global programs and initiatives.
  • Develops executive-level reporting, presentations, and communications that provide visibility to program outcomes, risks, opportunities, and strategic recommendations.
  • Identifies opportunities for continuous improvement and implements solutions that increase program effectiveness and stakeholder value.
