About The Position

The Senior Manufacturing Operations and Reliability Manager oversees the operation of a vertical grinding mill and powder material handling terminal, ensuring safe, efficient, and reliable milling, optimizing production rates, and maintaining cement quality. The role leads day-to-day mill operations, analyzes production data, coordinates preventative maintenance and outages, and supervises and trains operations personnel. It also works with technical services on cement quality, promotes safety and continuous improvement, and may provide consultation to other Ozinga cement sites. Regular attendance and physical presence are essential, and additional duties may be assigned to meet business needs. The work takes place in both an office and an industrial cement plant environment, with exposure to dust, noise, changing temperatures, mechanical equipment, vehicles, construction equipment, chemicals, and outdoor weather. Local travel is required. Weekend availability and on-call duty may be needed. The role has substantial physical requirements, including walking and climbing on uneven job sites, using fall protection and equipment, bending, and lifting and carrying at least 50 pounds several times a day.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent required.
Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, industrial, or chemical engineering, or equivalent industry experience.
5–7 years of experience in plant management, cement manufacturing, or similar heavy industrial sectors.
Experience with automated control systems.
Knowledge of cement quality parameters and testing standards.
Strong leadership and team management skills.
Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
Excellent problem-solving, organizational, and leadership skills.
Knowledge of environmental, health, and safety regulations in an industrial setting.
Availability for weekends and on-call duty as needed.
Ability to meet the physical requirements, including lifting and carrying at least 50 pounds several times a day.
Regular attendance and physical presence at work.

Responsibilities

Lead day-to-day operations of the vertical roller mill to maintain optimal grinding performance and continuous production.
Analyze operational data to identify improvements in throughput, energy efficiency, and product quality.
Lead maintenance teams in scheduling preventative maintenance to minimize downtime.
Work with the technical services team to monitor and maintain cement quality and consistency.
Supervise and train operations personnel to ensure adherence to standard operating procedures.
Enforce safety regulations and promote a safety culture across site activities.
Foster a culture of continuous improvement.
Plan maintenance outages and coordinate maintenance contractors.
Provide support and consultation to other Ozinga cement sites as needed.
Perform additional duties as needed to meet business needs.
