About The Position

ASML’s Manufacturing Engineering team supports the production of highly complex optical, mechanical, electrical, and system-level assemblies used in advanced lithography systems. As a Senior Manufacturing Engineer, you will drive process development, optimization, and sustainment in a high-tech manufacturing environment, ensuring stable, capable, and cost-efficient processes from early design through volume production. This posting includes three positions, each supporting a specific manufacturing area: New Product Introduction (NPI), Top-Level System Integration, and Optics. Final assignment will be based on the candidate’s experience and alignment with business needs.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Industrial, or related Engineering field
  • 5+ years of experience in NPI, process development, or product transfer
  • Experience with DOE, FMEA, SPC, and validation methodologies
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams (Design, Supply Chain, Quality)
  • Strong background in process documentation and change management
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Systems, or related Engineering field
  • 5+ years of experience in system integration, complex assemblies, or manufacturing engineering
  • Experience troubleshooting multi-disciplinary systems (mechanical, electrical, software)
  • Experience with test systems, system validation, and production builds
  • Familiarity with high-tech or semiconductor manufacturing environments
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Optical, Electrical, or related Engineering field
  • 5+ years of experience in optics, precision assemblies, or electro-mechanical manufacturing
  • Experience with optical alignment, metrology, or high-precision systems preferred
  • Experience with SPC, DOE, and process capability analysis
  • Familiarity with cleanroom manufacturing environments
  • Strong analytical and data-driven problem-solving
  • Ability to diagnose and resolve complex technical issues
  • Hands-on, detail-oriented with strong ownership
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong cross-functional collaboration and communication skills

  • Requires regular onsite presence and hands-on production support

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in optics, laser systems, lithography, or precision electro-mechanical assemblies
  • Experience supporting NPI / product transfers into manufacturing

Responsibilities

  • Own and sustain manufacturing processes to ensure quality, yield, and throughput performance
  • Lead process development and NPI activities, including manufacturing readiness, pilot builds, and transition to volume production
  • Translate product and design requirements into robust manufacturing processes, documentation, and control plans
  • Apply structured problem-solving methods (SPC, DOE, FMEA, root cause analysis) to improve process capability and reduce variation
  • Analyze manufacturing and test data (yield trends, paretos, Cpk) to identify improvement opportunities and drive corrective actions
  • Troubleshoot complex issues across optical, electro-mechanical, and system-level builds and tests
  • Partner cross-functionally with Design, Quality, and Production to resolve issues and improve product robustness
  • Develop and maintain manufacturing documentation (work instructions, standard work, control plans, BOMs)
  • Execute change management activities (COs, TDNs) to ensure controlled process updates
  • Identify and implement improvements to yield, cycle time, cost, and equipment performance using Lean principles
  • Support equipment qualification, tooling improvements, and production readiness activities
  • Provide hands-on support on the production floor and in cleanroom environments
  • Train and support technicians and production staff on processes and best practices
  • Lead new product introduction and process development, ensuring smooth transition from design to manufacturing.
  • Drive manufacturing readiness, pilot builds, and product launches
  • Develop end-to-end manufacturing processes (flows, PFMEA, control plans)
  • Partner with design teams to ensure manufacturability (DFM)
  • Lead process validation activities (DOE, GR&R, MSA)
  • Own system-level manufacturing processes for integration and final test
  • Troubleshoot complex electro-mechanical and system-level issues
  • Analyze system performance data and improve stability and throughput
  • Support system build, qualification, and production ramp
  • Own and improve optical assembly and alignment processes
  • Troubleshoot optical system performance and test failures
  • Support metrology tools and optical test systems
  • Drive improvements in precision alignment, yield, and defect reduction
