Requirements

Undergraduate degree or equivalent previous ME experience.
Extensive Experience in Influencing: Achieves influence and impact even when holding a position contrary to the majority. Discards examples of persuasive arguments lacking substance or impact. Leads and presents collaborative assessments that persuasively influence decision makers. Advises on techniques to build rapport and commitment to common purpose. Determines and leverages the decision-making style of the individual or group being influenced. Delivers well-received presentations of cost, benefits, risks, and other considerations.
Working Knowledge in Judgment and Decision Making: Discerns between "signal" and "noise" when considering courses of action. Selects the right activities to work on from a range of competing priorities. Stands by decisions in the face of conflict or unexpected outcome. Makes the transition from evaluation to conclusion readily and in a timely manner. Revisits decisions when appropriate, but infrequently and without disrupting focus.
Working Knowledge in Change Control - MFG: Assesses errors that occur during change execution and takes action in correcting these errors. Conducts impact analyses to determine the effect change might have on the status of current production environment. Implements routine changes to the production environment; documents the changes made. Follows the established change control process to ensure the performance of emergency repair and maintenance. Prevents unauthorized or unintended deviations in compliance with that of change control policies.
Extensive Experience in Engineering - MFG: Trains others on most components of engineering as related to manufacturing. Guides others on the application of manufacturing industry and organizational best engineering practices and explains their rationale. Facilitates the integration of engineering systems and applications for a manufacturing organization. Advises others on the key benefits, drawbacks and rationale for engineering standards, policies and practices. Monitors the effectiveness and efficiency of processes and improves engineering operations performance. Works with various complex engineering operations in a manufacturing environment.
Working Knowledge in Lean Manufacturing: Discusses considerations for work cell design and effectiveness monitoring. Finds solution for key technical and people problems associated with transformation to lean. Explains issues and considerations of implementing lean in own function or area. Selects and utilizes tools, techniques and measurements associated with a lean assessment. Explains benchmarks and measures of effectiveness of lean.
Extensive Experience in Manufacturing Equipment: Monitors methods and requirements for equipment environment to ensure protection against damage. Participates in evaluation and selection of new equipment. Facilitates the coordination and integration of multi-vendor equipment environments. Analyzes equipment history; monitors overall machine performance; evaluates planned upgrades. Plans, tests and implements changes to manufacturing infrastructure and environment. Ensures that employees are qualified to operate equipment effectively and safely.
Extensive Experience in Manufacturing Processes: Advises others using industry experience and benchmarks for methodology effectiveness. Develops best practices documentation for all major activities and tasks. Trains others on all major tasks and considerations for the full manufacturing process. Participates in measuring and monitoring new processes and technologies. Selects and optimizes specific methodologies for specific products. Evaluates benefits, drawbacks and appropriateness of alternative processes and technologies.
Working Knowledge in Troubleshooting Technical Problems: Documents common hardware, software and communications problems and likely resolutions. Troubleshoots typical technical problems in a specific area. Works with vendor-specific diagnostic guides, tools and utilities to discover application problems. Adheres to standard troubleshooting procedures to ensure effectiveness of resolutions. Participates in setting evaluation standards and criterion for troubleshooting.
