About The Position

Mission Technologies, a division of HII, is hiring a Senior Manufacturing Engineer to support operations at a client site in Elizabeth City, NC. You will oversee the maintenance and operational readiness of equipment, supplies, and software within an advanced rapid prototype fabrication facility. This role requires strong technical expertise, vendor coordination, and leadership in managing facility operations. The engineer will also support fabrication activities to ensure customer requirements and schedules are met. Candidates are required to have an active TS/SCI with Full Scope Polygraph for consideration.

Requirements

  • 5 years relevant experience with Bachelors in related field; 3 years relevant experience with Masters in realted field; 0 years experience with PhD or Juris Doctorate in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 9 years relevant experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to perform mechanical repair tasks including diagnostic troubleshooting and removal & reinstallation of mechanical assemblies
  • Strong professional and interpersonal communication skills
  • Ability to learn and adapt to a fast paced and continually changing environment
  • Strong organizational skills digitally and in fabrication facility environments
  • Knowledge of modern prototyping and production manufacturing methods
  • Knowledge of workplace safety standards and following government regulations
  • Must possess an active TS/SCI with Full Scope Polygraph clearance

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in maintaining and repairing CNC manufacturing equipment
  • Demonstrated experience in modern manufacturing methods including: CNC and manual machining with mills Lathes Waterjet and laser Sheet metal operations using CNC and manual shears and press brakes 3D printing with FDM & SLS Composite manufacturing with fiberglass and carbon fiber Welding methods including GMAW-GTAW-FCAW-PAC-OFC-Co2 and Fiber Laser
  • Understanding the implementation of Computer Aided Manufacturing (CAM) and Computer Aided Design (CAD) systems
  • Ability to develop documentation of SOPs for operation of equipment
  • Experience working within military environments

Responsibilities

  • You will be responsible for ensuring facility machinery, materials and software systems maintain a state of operational readiness per customer requirements.
  • You will also assist customer for fabrication efforts to meet schedule requirements.
