About The Position

The Senior Manufacturing Engineer is responsible for the manufacturing strategy, process improvement, and quality planning within an all new Steriflow product line Cell serving our growing demand in the market. The Manufacturing Engineer is the go-to technical expert within the Cell for operations associates, providing input and training to associates on standard work, continually looks and partners with operations associates to improve throughput, flow, quality, cost and supports root cause and corrective action. The Senior Manufacturing Engineer will support the development, launch, and execution of a dedicated cell supporting machining, finishing, assembly, and test. The right candidate will be responsive, reliable, customer focused and wiling to spend considerable time on the shop floor working alongside the team. This position reports to the Operations Manager and is responsible for the following: Develop and refine best practices and standard work for all processes from incoming raw material through to packaging and shipping Deploy the manufacturing, quality, facility, and equipment strategy to achieve the annual operation plan (AOP) and KPIs Create standard times, cost basis, and operational routings Drive operational rigor and improvement in quality standards to reduce rework and nonconformance Champion efforts of reducing WIP, inventory, and lead time while delivering on-time delivery and lead time improvements Attend meetings on NCR’s, variances, and quality investigations as well as monthly operations reviews Collect and analyzes statistical data and makes changes needed to optimize manufacturing efficiency and flow Design and develop manufacturing fixtures and aids Complies with all company policies and procedures including environmental, health and safety

Requirements

  • Bachelors degree in Engineering/Technology + 10 years’ experience
  • Must possess the ability to contribute to the development of new processes or systems, and resolve complex technical problems in a high-volume environment
  • Experience working with a broad range of materials aluminum, steel, glass, etc
  • Experience creating and deploying standard work within a manufacturing environment
  • Demonstrated ability to manage a complex project to successful completion
  • Demonstrated experience in deploying Lean Manufacturing / Six Sigma principles
  • Experience with CAD/CAM software
  • Experience with ERP / MRP systems
  • Strong working knowledge of Excel, PowerPoint, and other MS Office applications

Responsibilities
