Senior Manufacturing Engineer

HIDDEN LEVEL INCTown of De Witt, NY
$112,500 - $140,000Onsite

About The Position

At Hidden Level, we’re building the future of airspace awareness through cutting-edge RF sensing technology. Our mission is to make the world safer—whether it’s protecting troops, securing infrastructure, or enabling smarter cities. We design, manufacture, and deploy advanced sensor systems that deliver real-time insights for defense and commercial applications. As we expand, we're looking for a Senior Manufacturing Engineer to lead the development, optimization, and scaling of manufacturing processes and production systems across the product lifecycle. This role is responsible for driving manufacturing readiness for complex electro-mechanical systems, improving production efficiency and quality, and partnering cross-functionally with Engineering, Supply Chain, Quality, and Production teams to support new product introduction (NPI) and production scale-up efforts. The ideal candidate combines strong manufacturing process expertise with hands-on experience in assembly operations, tooling design, process optimization, and production scalability.

Requirements

  • Strong analytical and systems-level problem-solving skills
  • Hands-on manufacturing engineering experience in electro-mechanical assembly environments
  • Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills
  • Demonstrated ability to improve manufacturing efficiency, quality, and scalability
  • Strong understanding of production workflows, tooling, fixtures, and assembly process development
  • Ability to independently lead projects from concept through production deployment in a fast-paced environment
  • Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or related engineering discipline
  • 5+ years of experience in a manufacturing engineering role supporting electro-mechanical products or assemblies
  • Experience developing and optimizing manufacturing processes for low-volume/high-mix production environments
  • Strong understanding of mechanical assembly processes, tooling design, fixture development, and production workflows
  • Experience interpreting mechanical CAD drawings, 3D models, engineering documentation, and bills of materials
  • Familiarity with manufacturing process validation, root cause analysis, and statistical process control methodologies
  • Experience conducting time studies, labor analysis, and manufacturing cost reduction initiatives
  • Proficiency with CAD software and manufacturing documentation systems
  • Experience using data analysis tools such as Excel, MATLAB, Minitab, or Python for manufacturing and process analysis
  • Working knowledge of ERP/MRP or Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES)

Nice To Haves

  • Experience supporting aerospace, defense, radar, RF, or other high-reliability manufacturing environments
  • Lean/Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification
  • Experience with automation, robotics, or semi-automated manufacturing systems
  • Familiarity with cable/harness assembly, sheet metal fabrication, machining, or environmental qualification processes
  • Experience supporting contract manufacturers and supplier process qualification
  • Familiarity with Manufacturing Execution Systems, TIP QA/SFE or similar

Responsibilities

  • Lead the development, implementation, and optimization of manufacturing processes for electro-mechanical assemblies, subassemblies, and final system integration
  • Design, develop, and qualify manufacturing tooling, fixtures, assembly aids, and ergonomic workstations to support efficient and repeatable production
  • Drive process validation, manufacturing readiness reviews, and production ramp activities for new product introductions
  • Develop and maintain manufacturing work instructions, process flows, standard work, and assembly documentation through formal change control processes
  • Analyze production workflows, cycle times, yield data, and quality metrics to identify bottlenecks and implement corrective and preventive actions
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives using Lean manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies to improve throughput, reduce waste, and lower manufacturing costs
  • Collaborate closely with Mechanical, Electrical, Supply Chain, and Quality Engineering teams to ensure Design for Manufacturability (DFM), Design for Assembly (DFA), and Design for Testability (DFT)
  • Support troubleshooting and resolution of complex manufacturing, assembly, tooling, and equipment issues on the production floor
  • Perform time studies, line balancing, labor utilization analysis, and capacity planning to optimize manufacturing operations
  • Evaluate and implement automation, process improvements, and manufacturing technologies to support production scalability
  • Support supplier and contract manufacturer process development, qualification, and continuous improvement efforts
  • Mentor junior engineers and technicians while providing technical leadership across manufacturing operations
