About The Position

Cozzini has a great opportunity for a Senior Manufacturing Accountant to join our Accounting/Finance Team! This role involves preparing and reviewing financial statements, managing month-end and year-end close processes, maintaining and analyzing general ledger accounts, and calculating various reserve requirements. The position also includes capitalization of inventory cost variances, calculating project revenue, performing month-end close for specific areas, and monthly reporting uploads to the corporate parent. Additionally, the Senior Manufacturing Accountant will support audits, improve accounting processes and internal controls, analyze cost variances, maintain sales order reports, ensure inventory cost integrity, perform cost analysis for savings opportunities, assist with AP/AR as needed, manage sales tax functions, and actively participate in ERP system implementation. Other accounting department activities and special projects as requested by management are also part of the role.

Requirements

  • Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in accounting
  • Minimum of three years’ experience in a staff accounting function (preferably in a manufacturing environment)
  • Aptitude for mainframe software systems
  • Must be proficient with latest version of Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, etc) and Microsoft Outlook
  • Possess: strong organizational skills, strong attention to detail, be a hands-on person, with effective follow-up discipline and operating without close supervision
  • Maintain strict confidentiality of business information
  • Must be able to manage time effectively and meet tight deadlines
  • Must be flexible to adapt to rapidly changing priorities (i.e. able to quickly re-prioritize and change directions when the situation demands).
  • Ability to Research and analyze complex problems and develop an optimal approach for resolution.
  • Perform self-review of finished work and maintain high quality standards

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
  • Perform month-end and year end close processes, including journal entries and account reconciliations
  • Maintain and analyze general ledger accounts
  • Calculation of reserve requirements for bad debt, warranty, vacation and inventory obsolescence
  • Capitalization of inventory cost variances calculation
  • Calculating project revenue in accordance with POC revenue recognition pronouncement
  • Performing month-end close for equipment projects, plant operations and inventory
  • Monthly reporting upload to our corporate parent
  • Support internal and external audits by preparing documentation and responding to inquiries
  • Improve accounting processes and internal controls
  • Analyzing and reporting project and operating cost variances
  • Maintaining and reporting sales order intake and backlog reports
  • Maintaining the integrity of our inventory costs
  • Performing specific cost analysis and searching out cost savings opportunities
  • Assist in AP and AR if the circumstance requires
  • Managing all facets of the sales tax function
  • Active participation in the ERP system implementation
  • Any other Accounting Dept activities and special projects as requested by Management
