About The Position

The Senior Manager, Laboratory Operations leads technical and operational functions in a high-volume, high-complexity laboratory environment. Reporting to the Director of Laboratory Operations, this role optimizes workflows, strengthens laboratory performance, develops future leaders, and ensures accurate, high-quality laboratory services. The role is based onsite in DeLand, Florida, and is full-time, with a schedule of Tuesday through Friday, 9:00 AM–7:00 PM, and alternating Saturdays every 12 weeks.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Medical Technology or a related science field.
At least 5 years of laboratory leadership experience in a high-volume, high-complexity testing environment.
Active Medical Technologist registry through ASCP, NCA, AAB, or an equivalent organization.
Florida Supervisor License.
Strong knowledge of laboratory quality assurance, quality control, and regulatory compliance, including CAP and CLIA standards.
Proven leadership, communication, team development, and operational improvement skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.

Nice To Haves

Master’s degree in Business Administration or a relevant science discipline.

Responsibilities

Oversee laboratory operations, monitor performance metrics, optimize workflows, and achieve quality and financial targets.
Lead laboratory supervisors and frontline teams while promoting accountability, collaboration, and professional development.
Ensure laboratory testing meets applicable CAP, CLIA, federal, and Florida state regulatory requirements.
Drive process standardization, operational efficiency, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Partner with senior leadership to support service line growth, resource planning, and operational strategy.
Build relationships with internal and external customers and resolve operational concerns effectively.
