Under the direction of the Medical Director, Psychiatry, the Senior Manager of Therapy Services creates, directs, and implements innovative outcome-based individual, couples, and group behavioral health services. Additionally, the Senior Manager of Therapy Services oversees and manages Howard Brown Health’s clinical team and interns with a primary focus on increasing accessibility of community-based behavioral health services. Leverages industry knowledge and best practices to promote the mission and vision of Howard Brown Health as well as supports culture enhancement and management efforts.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree from an accredited institution of higher learning in Social Work or related field, required.
  • Minimum seven (7) years’ work experience as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker or related field required.
  • Of the seven years’ experience, minimum five (5) years of demonstrated leadership experience in a clinical setting, required.
  • Unincumbered and active Illinois Licensed Clinical Social Work or related licensure required.
  • Functional knowledge of NASW Code of Ethics (or related).
  • Knowledge of market standard for quality initiatives.
  • Knowledge of change management and leadership principles.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality regarding organizational operations, financial information, and strategic initiatives.
  • Functional and proficient knowledge and practice of various models of integrated care.
  • Ability to demonstrate an understanding and acceptance of equity, inclusion, and diversity concepts, and that they are broader than just race, ethnicity, and gender.
  • Knowledge of health disparities, substance use and domestic violence issues, especially within LGBTQ community.
  • Demonstrated self-awareness, in terms of understanding their own culture, identity, biases, prejudices, power, privilege and stereotypes.
  • Ability to document effectively in an electronic health record environment.
  • Ability to work affirmatively with gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender, queer (LGBTQ) and HIV positive patients.
  • Requires ability to speak audibly and listen actively.
  • Requires ability to use computers, telephone, and other office equipment.
  • Requires ability to sit for an extended period of time.
  • Requires ability to periodically travel across sites.

Responsibilities

  • Conducts screenings, makes referrals, completes assessments, and provides therapy services. (50% Clinical; 50% Administrative).
  • Manages daily clinical functions including staff schedules, program evaluation, quality assurance, caseload distribution, and productivity in line with Howard Brown Health standards.
  • Develops program goals, objectives, procedures, and innovative mental health programming to meet clinical, community and agency needs.
  • Reviews, analyzes, and assesses Therapy Services performance and quality improvement efforts and support changes as needed to improve service delivery and ensure compliance with regulatory compliance.
  • Champions for care integration by proactively collaborating with other disciplines (i.e., Medical, Case Management, Psychiatry, Linkage to Care) to ensure holistic patient-centered care outcomes.
  • Collaborates with internal stakeholders to streamline operational workflows and recommend appropriate changes to administrative procedures.
  • Collaborates with internal and external billing partners to improve reimbursement, benefit verification processes, and Behavioral Health services billing practices.
  • Recruits, trains, and evaluates a team of licensed therapists (e.g., LCSWs, LCPCs) and clinical interns.
  • Provides clinical supervision and mentorship to help staff achieve licensure and professional development.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
