About The Position

CancerCare Manitoba is a provincial agency that provides clinical and academic services and leadership for cancer control and the treatment of blood disorders. The Patient Services Manager for the Radiation Therapy Department provides operational leadership in advancing clinical quality, patient safety, workflow optimization, and technical innovation within the Radiation Therapy Program. The incumbent oversees and manages multidisciplinary teams composed of direct and indirect patient care staff and is responsible for ensuring the delivery of safe, effective, efficient, and patient-centered cancer services. This role supports the evaluation, implementation, and continuous improvement of emerging technologies, evidence-based practices, and integrated care models aligned with organizational and provincial priorities. The Patient Services Manager (RT) inspires and guides staff in the delivery of person-centered care while fostering a culture of clinical excellence, continuous quality improvement, collaboration, and innovation. Accountable for patient-centric operational management in a financially responsible manner, the role works closely with leadership, internal teams, and external partners to support access to high-quality cancer care services. Responsibilities also include monitoring and evaluating key performance indicators, supporting quality and safety initiatives, and ensuring appropriate patient care through the clinical quality framework and evidence-informed practice. This position requires a balance of clinical expertise, leadership, quality improvement experience, and advanced technology knowledge to support the ongoing evolution and modernization of radiation therapy services at CancerCare Manitoba (CCMB).

Requirements

  • Post-secondary degree in a relevant health discipline, healthcare leadership, education, healthcare administration, or a related field from an accredited educational institution.
  • 5 years of progressive management experience leading a broad spectrum of patient services in a publicly funded health services delivery organization.
  • 5 years of progressive Radiation Therapy clinical experience.
  • 3 years of leadership, project management, advanced practice, or supervisory experience.
  • 2 years experience in program planning, development, implementation, and evaluation within a publicly funded healthcare environment.
  • Demonstrated organizational, interpersonal, communication, and leadership skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic healthcare environment.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within interdisciplinary teams.
  • Experience managing projects involving multidisciplinary internal and external stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated commitment to accuracy, attention to detail, and strong computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Visio).
  • Ability to foster inclusive, equitable, and collaborative working relationships.
  • Experience with AI-enabled workflows.
  • Experience with clinical software and systems implementation or upgrades.
  • Experience with evidence-based practice initiatives.
  • Experience with staff development, competency assessment, and technical onboarding.
  • Experience with workflow optimization and process improvement.
  • Experience with technology implementation and change management.
  • Demonstrated experience in radiation therapy quality assurance and quality improvement initiatives.
  • Demonstrated experience in radiation safety and incident learning systems.
  • Demonstrated experience in policy and procedure development and implementation.
  • Canadian Association of Medical Radiation Technology (CAMRT) registration required.
  • Ability to work safely in a computerized office environment with frequent meetings and occasional lifting or carrying of items.
  • Ability to manage frequent interruptions while maintaining focused planning and organizational responsibilities.
  • Valid Manitoba driver’s license and access to a personal vehicle for provincial travel.
  • Must have a satisfactory employment record.
  • Must be legally able to work in Canada.

  • Master’s degree in Healthcare Administration, Leadership, Quality Improvement, Education, or a related field.
  • Certification or formal training in Lean/Six Sigma.

  • 2 years experience leading clinical operations within a unionized healthcare environment is considered an asset.
