About The Position

The Senior Manager, Agentic Commerce will help define and execute Walmart’s business strategy for the next generation of AI-powered commerce. This hands-on role sits at the intersection of strategy, product, parnterships, data insights, and execution - identifying and sizing emerging opportunities, developing strategic recommendations, testing new ideas, and driving initiatives from concept through launch. Working across Business, Product, Engineering, Data, and external technology partners, this leader will connect rapid developments in AI with Walmart’s commerce capabilities. The ideal candidate is a strategic thinker, analytical problem solver, and operator who thrives in fast-moving, ambiguous environments. The Technology Operations team bridges Walmart’s commerce capabilities with the evolving AI ecosystem, shaping how the company engages with emerging AI and agentic commerce platforms. This team identifies new opportunities, develops business and partnership strategies, and transforms them into partnerships, capabilities, and enhanced customer experiences. Leading initiatives from evaluation to scaling, the team shapes the commerce ecosystem while safeguarding and expanding Walmart’s unique strengths and customer relationships.

Requirements

• Strong background in business strategy, strategy & operations, strategic partnerships, consulting, or a related field, with a track record of turning ambiguous problems into actionable strategies and results.
• Exceptional analytical skills and experience working directly with data to develop insights, size opportunities, build business cases, and evaluate performance.
• Strong curiosity and fluency in AI and emerging technology trends, with the ability to understand new capabilities and translate them into business opportunities.
• An operator mentality—comfortable going beyond strategy to drive initiatives through execution, launch, and scale.
• Experience owning complex initiatives from zero-to-one, with the ability to operate independently and create structure where little exists.
• Strong business judgment and the ability to translate emerging technologies into customer and commercial opportunities.
• Ability to work effectively with Product, Engineering, Data Science, and external technology partners.
• Exceptional communication and ability to influence senior stakeholders while remaining close to the details.
• Bachelor's degree in computer science, management information systems, industrial engineering, engineering management, business, information systems, project/program management, information technology, finance, management, or related area and 5 years’ experience in project management, program management, program operations, or related area.
• 7 years’ experience in project management, program management, program operations, or related area.
• 2 years’ supervisory experience.

Nice To Haves

• Master’s degree in computer science, management information systems, industrial engineering, engineering management, business, information systems, project/program management, information technology, finance, management, or related area and 4 years' experience in project management, program management, program operations, or related area.
• Background in creating inclusive digital experiences, demonstrating knowledge in implementing Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 AA standards, assistive technologies, and integrating digital accessibility seamlessly.

Responsibilities

• Define business strategies for emerging AI and agentic commerce opportunities, including where Walmart should participate, differentiate, and invest.
• Use data and analytics to size opportunities, diagnose performance, build business cases, and measure impact.
• Evaluate emerging technologies and business models to identify new opportunities and inform strategic decisions.
• Lead initiatives end-to-end, from opportunity assessment and strategy through experimentation, launch, measurement, and scale.
• Work with leading technology platforms to evaluate and develop new partnerships, business models, and customer experiences.
• Develop strategies across emerging areas such as AI-driven discovery, agentic commerce, distribution, and monetization.
• Translate strategic opportunities into clear priorities, operating plans, and cross-functional roadmaps.
• Drive alignment and execution across Product, Engineering, Data Science, Analytics, Marketing, and other teams.
