Senior Manager - Technical SEO

Hard Rock DigitalAtlantic City, NJ
Hybrid

About The Position

Hard Rock Digital is building the best online sportsbook, casino, and social casino company in the world. We are seeking a Senior Manager - Technical SEO to own the technical health, crawlability, and indexability of Hard Rock Bet's digital properties, including the marketing site, web app, and product sites across the US and Canada. This is a hands-on, technical role where you will act as the primary technical bridge between the SEO/GEO team and Engineering/Product, translating search visibility requirements into actionable tickets and specifications. You will build the technical SEO intake process from the ground up while managing an active backlog. The ideal candidate is technically proficient, capable of analyzing technical data, and skilled at communicating the business impact of technical issues to non-technical stakeholders. You will need to exercise judgment in distinguishing between technical SEO fixes and product/legal decisions.

Requirements

  • 5-8+ years of SEO experience with a strong focus on technical SEO, preferably in a large-scale, multi-market, or regulated digital platform.
  • Deep, hands-on understanding of crawlability, rendering, indexing, JavaScript SEO (client-side rendering, server-side rendering), canonicalization, redirects, robots.txt/crawl directives, structured data, XML sitemaps, and international hreflang implementation.
  • Experience diagnosing and fixing indexation issues on JavaScript-heavy or single-page applications, going beyond standard crawl reports.
  • Experience with log file analysis to understand crawler behavior at scale, including AI/LLM crawlers.
  • Proven ability to work effectively with Engineering and Product, translating SEO requirements into clear tickets, specs, and QA checklists.
  • Genuine curiosity about the emerging AI/GEO discovery landscape.
  • Proficiency with core SEO tooling: Google Search Console, Screaming Frog (or equivalent), and Ahrefs or Semrush.
  • Comfort working alongside analytics platforms like Amplitude or Segment.
  • Excellent written communication skills for documenting technical findings and requirements.
  • Detail-oriented and comfortable owning ambiguity; ability to help define processes.
  • Experience in iGaming, sports betting, or another highly regulated digital industry is a strong plus.

Responsibilities

  • Own crawlability, indexability, canonicalization, structured data, XML sitemaps, redirects, and site architecture across all Hard Rock Bet properties, including JavaScript-heavy web applications and WordPress sites.
  • Diagnose and resolve indexation issues in single-page applications, evaluate prerendering solutions, and validate search engine rendering of app pages.
  • Conduct log file analysis to understand crawler behavior (Googlebot, Bingbot, AI crawlers), identify crawl-budget waste, and manage robots.txt and crawl-directive changes.
  • Oversee hreflang implementation and domain architecture for US and Canada properties, including ccTLD strategy and market-specific technical requirements.
  • Serve as the primary technical point of contact for Engineering and Product, owning the intake process for technical SEO requests and ensuring early involvement in feature planning.
  • Ensure technical accessibility for AI crawlers and answer engines, partnering with content and GEO leads on AI readiness.
  • Own the technical SEO checklist for new market launches, ensuring technical readiness before go-live.
  • Perform regular technical audits using tools like Screaming Frog, Google Search Console, and Ahrefs/Semrush, and report on technical site health.

  • Competitive pay and benefits
  • Flexible vacation allowance
  • A hybrid / remote working environment
  • Startup culture backed by a secure, global brand
