About The Position

Freshworks is seeking a Senior Manager, Technical Revenue Accounting to bring the US technical revenue accounting function fully in-house. This is the first in-house hire for this function, addressing the growing need for a permanent, senior owner due to increasing deal complexity. This high-visibility, individual contributor role reports directly to the Senior Director of Revenue Accounting. The position involves approximately 80% deep technical work, including research, judgment, contract architecture, and documentation, and 20% operational close workflows related to owned policies. The role will also guide the implementation of Klarity AI in the contract review process, defining workflows and auditing outputs to ensure scalability and focus on high-impact technical analysis and cross-functional advisory.

Requirements

8+ years in revenue/technical accounting with deep ASC 606 expertise.
Proven track record of drafting technical accounting memos and operationalizing complex policy from scratch.
Enjoy diving into ambiguous revenue scenarios, multi-option research, and building structure.
Experience sitting at the table with Legal and Sales Ops as a business partner.
In-house experience at a fast-growing software company is highly valued.
A Big 4 background is a great plus, but practical, hands-on SaaS revenue experience is most important.

Responsibilities

Own ASC 606 analysis for complex SaaS arrangements, including SSP, contract modifications, and variable/usage-based consideration.
Write technical accounting memos, set policy, and own conclusions.
Partner closely with Legal, Deal Desk, and Sales Ops during active contract negotiations to evaluate revenue implications and structure non-standard deals.
Support the technical accounting aspects of month-end and quarter-end close.
Help transform close processes into repeatable, automated, and audit-ready workflows.
Guide the integration of automation tools and optimize existing systems like NetSuite ARM and Salesforce to scale the revenue function.
