The Opportunity The Senior Manager provides communications support to the VP, Tech Ops, developing and executing communications strategy, providing superior communication products including speeches, correspondence and employee messages. It has considerable interaction with senior executives who are the function's customers. Lends support to other Corp. Comm. functions (Employee Communications, Corporate Information) as necessary. Implement the organization's internal communication strategy so that all employees can find, send, receive, and understand information that is timely, accurate, clear, credible and relevant. This role is responsible for establishing, leading, and scaling the change management capability across Tech Ops. Provides strategic oversight and hands-on leadership for change initiatives tied to portfolio execution, operating model evolution, process transformation, and organizational effectiveness. This role ensures that Tech Ops initiatives are successfully adopted and sustained through disciplined change practices aligned to a regulated, patient-critical environment. This position will be responsible for events that promote employee culture programs while partnering with VP, DVPs and Sr. Directors Tech Ops to develop communication objectives, strategies, tools and vehicles to showcase and promote employee culture in support of existing and/or new programs.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in English, Journalism, Marketing, Public Relations, Event Planning, Change Management, Communications or equivalent communication-related major
  • Minimum 10 years of related work experience
  • 8-10 years in a high-level communications environment in business, government or journalism.
  • Direct experience producing executive communications in multiple forms (speeches, presentations, correspondence, etc.) a must
  • Extensive experience working with senior manager customers.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to work well in a cross-functional environment are essential.
  • Excellent communication skills at all levels of the organization
  • Exercises judgment within generally defined practices and policies in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions and the impact it has on the business.
  • Strong project management, agency/vendor management, organization and tactical execution skills.
  • Comfortable driving a process with multiple stakeholders and leading meetings.
  • Strong collaborator as well as a demonstrated ability to influence, motivate and lead others is required.
  • Ability to handle multiple projects and changing priorities to meet deadlines.

  • Extensive experience leading organizational change, transformation, or organizational effectiveness initiatives within medical devices, digital health, or other regulated technical environments.
  • Demonstrated experience designing and implementing enterprise-level change strategies aligned to portfolio and operating model evolution
  • Proven leadership experience including hiring, coaching, developing, and performance managing professional staff.
  • Experience building or scaling a formal change management function.
  • Strong understanding of cross-functional technical operations and portfolio-driven environments.
  • Demonstrated ability to conduct change impact assessments, stakeholder analyses, and readiness diagnostics for complex initiatives.
  • Ability to coach senior leaders on effective change leadership behaviors.
  • Demonstrated ability to tactfully challenge resistance and drive sustained adoption through influence.
  • Strong business acumen with demonstrated success delivering measurable adoption and behavioral outcomes.
  • Ability to manage conflict, navigate ambiguity, and operate effectively in matrixed organizations.
  • Experience integrating change practices within regulated environments, including awareness of applicable U.S. Quality System Requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Produces communications materials for the VP, Tech Ops and other executives in the Tech Ops organization, including speeches, correspondence and other vehicles.
  • Manages the logistics of the Tech Ops internal Communication program, including maintenance of the production calendar.
  • Contributes to Tech Ops Executive Communications, writing speeches and correspondence for senior executives.
  • Contributes written materials for Employee Communications and Corporate Information purposes.
  • Works with sensitive information and oversees high-visibility products and processes.
  • Work is primarily for the vice president, Tech Ops.
  • Has contact with a broad range of internal and external contacts, across levels.
  • Develop, publish and distribute a range of materials in traditional print form, electronically or through online technologies (for example, newsletters, brochures, handbooks, conference and seminar materials ), in order to communicate effectively with employees.
  • Represent the employee communication function on project teams so that other members of the organization are aware of the unit's activities and to share knowledge on effective employee communication.
  • Participate in external communication activities (e.g., public relations programs) where they impact employee communications.
  • Lead, direct, evaluate and develop a team of communications professionals to ensure that the organization's internal communication strategy is implemented on time and within budget.
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive change management strategy aligned to Tech Ops portfolio and transformation priorities.
  • Establish standardized change methodologies, tools, templates, and governance aligned to enterprise expectations and regulatory requirements.
  • Conduct change impact assessments, readiness evaluations, and stakeholder analyses for major initiatives.
  • Partner with Portfolio and Ways of Working leaders to integrate change planning into governance and operating model shifts.
  • Coach and advise senior leaders on effective sponsorship, communication, and change leadership behaviors.
  • Define and track change adoption metrics and report progress to executive stakeholders.
  • Identify organizational risks related to adoption and recommend mitigation strategies.
  • Build and scale a team of change practitioners, including hiring, onboarding, coaching, and performance management.
  • Establish role clarity and capability standards for change practitioners within Tech Ops.
  • Drive alignment between change management efforts and quality, compliance, and regulatory considerations.
  • Foster a culture of transparency, engagement, and accountability during periods of organizational transformation.
  • Work collaboratively with a diverse team of partners including Tech Ops organization to develop and execute events, digital and print advertising and other.
  • Work closely with brand & product managers to drive the development of employee culture, using marketing collateral across print, online and digital media.
  • Serve as liaison with agencies to establish priorities, manage timelines and budgets for multiple projects, ensuring appropriate and cost-effective use of resources.
  • Create graphic development for exhibits and events geared towards employees.
  • Promote and utilize analytical methods to establish and evaluate all programs.
