About The Position

Frederik Meijer Gardens & Sculpture Park is seeking a Senior Manager, Talent Management to join their Human Resources & Volunteer Services team. This is a full-time, salaried, exempt position reporting to the Senior Director, Human Resources. The Senior Manager will play a strategic leadership role in shaping how the organization attracts, develops, engages, rewards, and retains talented employees. This role involves influencing workforce strategy, talent acquisition, compensation, benefits, payroll, leadership development, and organizational effectiveness, all while contributing to an outstanding employee experience. The position serves as a strategic partner, ensuring people strategies align with organizational priorities and future workforce needs, providing leadership for talent acquisition, total rewards, workforce planning, HR technology, and leadership development.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Organizational Leadership, or a related field.
  • Ten or more years of progressive Human Resources experience.
  • Previous leadership experience with direct people management.
  • Experience leading multiple HR disciplines such as talent acquisition, compensation, benefits, payroll, or HR business partnership.
  • Experience partnering with senior leaders to develop workforce strategies.
  • Strong understanding of employment law and HR compliance.
  • Experience using HRIS systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Excellent communication, coaching, consulting, and relationship-building skills.
  • Strong analytical and financial acumen with the ability to interpret workforce data.

Nice To Haves

  • Master's degree in a related field.
  • SHRM-SCP, SPHR, CCP, or comparable professional certification.
  • Experience leading HR technology or organizational effectiveness initiatives.
  • Knowledge of compensation philosophy, market pricing, and salary administration.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute organization-wide talent acquisition and workforce planning strategies.
  • Partner with leaders to identify workforce needs and build proactive recruiting plans.
  • Oversee recruitment processes, employment branding, and candidate experience.
  • Lead succession planning and talent pipeline initiatives for critical positions.
  • Oversee compensation philosophy, salary administration, and annual compensation planning.
  • Manage benefit strategy, vendor relationships, and employee education initiatives.
  • Provide leadership and oversight for payroll administration and compliance.
  • Partner with Finance to support compensation budgeting and workforce investments.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor on workforce planning, organizational design, and employee effectiveness.
  • Coach leaders on performance management and talent development.
  • Support organizational change initiatives and complex employee relations matters.
  • Foster collaborative partnerships across departments.
  • Lead leadership development and organizational learning initiatives.
  • Oversee performance management and talent review processes.
  • Recommend solutions that strengthen organizational capability and employee engagement.
  • Promote continuous improvement across HR programs and services.
  • Lead HR talent strategy, reporting, and process improvement initiatives.
  • Analyze workforce metrics and trends to support executive decision-making.
  • Ensure compliance with employment laws, HR policies, and organizational standards.
  • Manage departmental budgets, vendor relationships, and special projects.
