Collins Aerospace, an RTX company, is seeking a Senior Manager Systems Engineering to support the AF DCGS High Band Mission Applications Software (HBMAS) Sustainment and Development program in Aurora, CO. The role requires senior-level systems engineering leadership across requirements, architecture, integration, verification, and technical execution to deliver secure, cloud-enabled mission capabilities. The team develops and enhances cloud enabled systems used for ingesting, tagging, and auditing mission data while ensuring security, integrity, and availability. Work is performed using modern agile practices in close collaboration with customer and operational stakeholders. Occasional CONUS/OCONUS travel may be required (up to 25%). An active and transferable U.S. government issued TS/SCI clearance is required prior to start date. This position is contingent upon contract award and customer funding.

Requirements

  • Experience in management of system engineering, test engineering, or integration engineering
  • Experience with personnel management for staffing, growth & development
  • Demonstrated ability to lead a scrum team and drive results through tracking & interpreting metrics
  • Experience establishing and leading modern agile execution
  • Demonstrated ability to lead a team while addressing technical, execution and personnel issues
  • Experience with cloud based, distributed, or containerized systems
  • Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 10 years of prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 7 years experience.
  • Active and transferable U.S. government issued TS/SCI clearance is required prior to start date.
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

  • Experience with Kubernetes, Docker, or other cloud native technologies
  • Familiarity with DevSecOps pipelines, automated testing, and CI/CD
  • Knowledge of DoD mission systems, cybersecurity requirements, and secure by design practices

Responsibilities

  • Establish program Agile Processes and lead scrum events
  • Experience coordinating with Product Owners, DevSecOps teams, Cybersecurity, and program management to ensure cohesive execution
  • Track progress using metrics to identify needs, impediments, and improvement areas
  • Track progress and improve team velocity by removing impediments and mentoring team members
  • Maintain execution baselines and delivery commitments through coordination across engineering disciplines
  • Ensure acceptance criteria are met and maintain accountability across development teams
  • Perform work inspections to ensure transparency and accountability
  • Strong communication skills with ability to deliver customer level briefings covering systems engineering and I&T scope, processes, and execution
  • Provide Manage staffing and coordination between the HBMAS program SE team and the SE Discipline matrix organization
  • Provide dynamic positive leadership that instills integrity and collaboration
  • Provide Annual Feedback Reviews to Systems Engineering Discipline team members
  • Establish Agile and SE Process guidance for the team and champion their understanding and adherence
  • Provide mentorship and manage team member’s career development and technical competency growth
  • Drive systems engineering rigor across requirements, architecture, interfaces, integration, and verification
  • Experience guiding technical baseline development, configuration management, and interface control processes
  • Strong communication skills with ability to present technical direction to customers, stakeholders, and leadership
