SUMMARY: Provides vision, leadership, coaching and mentoring to organization, with focus on component product scale up and manufacturing activities. Directs and coordinates all production activities through subordinate staff to attain production goals consistent with cost, quality, reliability and delivery requirements. Responsible for the execution of company business plan. Works closely with New Product Development, Manufacturing and Process Engineering to ensure timely scale up of new products and processes. Manages team to ensure business objectives are met.

Requirements

  • Bachelor degree required
  • 8-9 years of related experience
  • 3-5 years of supervisory or project leadership experience
  • Ability to lead and manage self directed work teams.
  • Ability to audit production areas identify non-compliance to requirements, and develop/oversee action plans for corrective action.
  • Extensive knowledge in matters such as labor relations, manufacturing methods, production planning and assembly activities.
  • In-depth understanding of accounting (standard cost), trend analysis and failure rate analysis.
  • In-depth understanding of production and quality control techniques such as CFM, JIT, TQM, CIM, etc.
  • Excellent written and oral English communications skills required.
  • Must understand and have ability to analyze market requirements and opportunities for product lines.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents.
  • Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community.
  • Ability to write speeches and articles for publication that conforms to prescribed style and format.
  • Ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors.
  • Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry.
  • Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
  • Ability to define problems, collects data, establishes facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for managing production schedules and estimating capacity requirements for completion firm and forecasted orders.
  • Monitors plant output to establish raw materials capabilities.
  • Responsible for managing personnel that generate paperwork to support assigned product lines.
  • Responsible for managing personnel that estimates and plan raw and/or any other material requirements used to support assigned product lines.
  • Analyzes, recommends and implements processes and procedures to provide accurate results for the Supply Chain Department.
  • Participates and leads discussion with costumers around delivery schedules.
  • Develops department budgets, both operating and capital.
  • Participates and compiles statistics in the preparation and control of department operating budgets.
  • Creates development plans for raw material scale up.
  • Identify needed resources.
  • Recruit and train personnel.
  • Identifies and implements Lean Manufacturing and Process Excellence methods for the department.
  • Establishes and monitors inventory goals (WIP, floor stock, etc) adequate to meet schedule requirements while minimizing investment and obsolescence exposure.
  • Revises purchasing or planning documentation as appropriate.
  • Responds to and participates in corrective action implementation to observations identified in internal audits.
  • Keeps up-to-date systems and technology to promote cost effective utilization of resources.
  • Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
  • Responsible for ensuring that subordinate follows all company guidelines and policies.
