Our Product Support and Logistics Division (PSLD) is one of the most innovative divisions within Caterpillar. In PSLD, as within all of Caterpillar, our priority is our customers and helping them build a better world. We touch nearly every element of the services value stream. PSLD is responsible for Aftermarket Parts Distribution of Cat Parts, Integrated Logistics and Global Services supporting Caterpillar dealers and customers. Our teams work together in critical areas that leverage digital capabilities, technology and operational excellence. As the Senior Manager Supply Chain, you will manage a team that oversees the demand planning for Aftermarket parts to ensure availability of necessary commodities. You will develop, implement, and manage supply chain strategies, as well as ensure parts availability where / when needed by translating product knowledge, machine population, lifecycle, and market drivers into targeted inventory strategies. You will balance service, backorders, and inventory investment through disciplined part-level decisions and governance with Product Groups / Component Segments and drive proactive planning (placing inventory ahead of demand) rather than reacting after service gaps occur. This role is Commodity / Industry focused for Construction Industries with deep understanding of products, applications, and demand drivers.

Requirements

Responsibilities

  • Manage a team that oversees the demand planning for Aftermarket parts to ensure availability of necessary commodities.
  • Develop, implement, and manage supply chain strategies.
  • Ensure parts availability where / when needed by translating product knowledge, machine population, lifecycle, and market drivers into targeted inventory strategies.
  • Balance service, backorders, and inventory investment through disciplined part-level decisions and governance with Product Groups / Component Segments.
  • Drive proactive planning (placing inventory ahead of demand) rather than reacting after service gaps occur.
  • Conduct regular industry partner reviews.
  • Measure and drive performance for inventory, demand, availability / service, and backorders.
  • Reviews inventory levels and validate and prioritize schedules and inventory signals.
  • Perform trend analysis: assess demand trends; review forecast trends for enterprise alignment; analyze demand/forecast relative to schedule output.
  • Performs service and availability reviews at individual part level; identifies risk and required actions.
