About The Position

The Senior Manager, Supply Chain is responsible for setting Kites Vector supply strategy, mobilizing the business against a shared S&OP Plan, and maturing capabilities to maintain industry leading performance. Kite is a biopharmaceutical company engaged in the development of innovative cancer immunotherapies with a goal of providing rapid, long-term durable response and eliminating the burden of chronic care. The company is focused on chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) and T cell receptor (TCR) engineered cell therapies designed to empower the immune system's ability to recognize and kill tumors. Kite is based in Santa Monica, CA.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree and 8+ years of relevant experience; OR Masters' degree and 6+ years of relevant experience; OR PhD and 2+ years of relevant experience.
  • Experience with LCM management and multi-stage planning
  • Experience with RapidResponse material requirement planning program
  • Experience in pharmaceutical operations/cGMP environment highly desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Works on problems of moderately complex scope where analysis of situation or data requires evaluation of identifiable factors.
  • Responsible for managing operations and may manage personnel and activities to accomplish company objectives, in accordance with the budget and timelines.
  • If responsible for personnel management, selects, develops and evaluates staff to ensure the efficient operation of the function, conducts or organizes training, and provides input into performance reviews.
  • Responsible for planning and implementing activities related to the material purchase, material control, inventory control, and shipping/receiving and stores functions.
  • Frequently interacts with functional peer group managers. Interactions normally involve matters between functional areas, other company divisions or units, or customers.
  • Implements and assists with the development of Supply Chain policies, procedures, techniques, standards, and systems.
  • Prepares project plans and manages projects to successful and timely completion.
  • Provides expertise to the team and functional areas to anticipate, identify and resolve complex project issues which pose a challenge to achieving strategic goals.
  • Reviews and assists with planning requirements for business operations, taking into account demand or trends in the marketplace.
  • Takes action to meet schedules and/or resolve technical problems.
  • Coordinates other departments and external parties to maintain inventories at planned level, ensuring resources are sufficient to achieve the organization’s goals and objectives.
  • Responsible for ensuring the creation and maintenance of documentation to reflect the effectiveness and efficiency of department activities.
  • May author sections of regulatory documents.
  • Negotiates large contracts involving substantial financial amounts with suppliers/vendors.
  • Monitors and reports the cost, schedules and performance aspects for large contracts.
  • Reviews and approves purchases up to a specified financial value.
  • Supports the Continuous Improvement process by aggressively seeking ways to improve Supply Chain processes and performance.
  • Provides leadership and manages interactions between the client and internal cross-functional project teams.
  • Acts as a primary contact for external clients.
  • May assist with the development and integration of new technologies and/or new processes as needed, to reduce costs.
  • May design and develop global operations functional process flow architecture to support existing and future business plans.
  • May be responsible for coordinating the marketing forecast with the Master Production Schedule.
