About The Position

The Senior Manager, Studio Production oversees and supports scripted television projects across all phases of the production lifecycle, including development, writers' rooms, prep, production, post-production, and project wrap. This role serves as a key liaison between creative, production, legal, finance, labor relations, post-production, and external partners, ensuring projects remain compliant, organized, and operationally efficient.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience.
  • 5+ years of experience in television production, studio production, production management, or related entertainment industry roles.
  • Strong understanding of the scripted television production lifecycle, from development through final delivery.
  • Working knowledge of WGA, DGA, SAG-AFTRA, IATSE, Teamsters, and other applicable guild and union requirements.
  • Experience managing writers' rooms, production startups, and production operations.
  • Proficiency with production management and collaboration platforms, including Scenechronize, Airtable, Microsoft Office Suite, DocuSign, Cashet, Box, and related tools.
  • Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and shifting priorities simultaneously.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with a proactive approach to issue resolution.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to work effectively with individuals at all levels of an organization.
  • Ability to work independently, exercise sound judgment, and maintain confidentiality when handling sensitive information.
  • Highly detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy, follow-through, and operational excellence.

Responsibilities

  • Manage multiple scripted television projects simultaneously through development, writers' rooms, production, post-production, and wrap.
  • Serve as the primary Studio Production contact for day-to-day operational needs across assigned projects.
  • Coordinate writers' room launches, including office space, staffing logistics, onboarding, funding, technology, payroll setup i-9 verification, and vendor management.
  • Oversee production startup processes, including project funding, entity setup, production office establishment, and crew onboarding.
  • Manage production compliance training by coordinating anti-harassment training enrollment, training links, tracking completion, and following up to ensure timely compliance.
  • Partner with Production Executives, Production Finance, Legal Affairs, Business Affairs, Human Resources, Post Production, and external production teams to facilitate project needs and resolve issues.
  • Prepare, review, track, and submit guild and union documentation, including WGA, DGA, SAG-AFTRA, IATSE, Teamsters, and other labor-related paperwork.
  • Manage writing credits administration, including Notices of Tentative Writing Credits (NTWCs), writer payments, script assignments, and arbitration-related submissions.
  • Coordinate director and writer deal memo execution and track compliance with studio, guild, and contractual requirements.
  • Review and monitor production reports, schedules, budgets, staffing plans, and other key production documentation.
  • Oversee onboarding and training of production coordinators, writers' assistants, script coordinators, and other support staff on studio policies and procedures.
  • Administer production management systems, including Scenechronize, Debut, Box and other studio platforms.
  • Facilitate communication and information flow between internal stakeholders and external production teams.
  • Manage production deliverables, ensuring compliance with studio, network, and distributor requirements.
  • Track project milestones, deadlines, and approvals to ensure timely execution of production activities.
  • Develop and maintain production resources, training materials, standard operating procedures, and department manuals.
  • Research production facilities, vendors, locations, incentives, and operational solutions to support project needs.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with production partners, vendors, guild representatives, and industry stakeholders.
  • Manage preparation and submission of U.S. copyright applications and other required studio documentation.
  • Oversee the secure distribution lists for scripts, outlines, revisions, and production documents to studio executives, network partners, and production teams, ensuring accurate version control, confidentiality, and timely delivery.
  • Lead end-to-end production wrap for multiple scripted series, overseeing project closeout, deliverables, and compliance while ensuring all studio, network, streaming platform, and distribution partner requirements are met.
  • Establish and manage customized workflows for each production, adapting to the unique deliverable requirements, documentation standards, and deadlines of various networks, streaming platforms, and distribution partners.
  • Lead special projects, process improvements, and departmental initiatives designed to enhance operational efficiency and scalability.
