Schwan’s Shared Services, LLC, a subsidiary of Schwan’s Company, seeks a Senior Manager Strategic Sourcing at our office in Hopkins, Minnesota. This role is accountable for the management of assigned category(s) spend of up to $75m, including research, negotiation, contracting, budgeting, and communication to all stakeholders with minimal supervision. The position involves preparing and presenting reports to senior leadership and customers, and requires travel to plant and vendor locations as needed to maintain relationships. The Senior Manager will determine category pricing through market research, negotiation, proactive supplier contracting, and establishing commodity futures positions. Responsibilities include managing operational, supply, and quality issues for the category, supporting new product development, generating YoY productivity, and managing projects through the Stage Gate process. The role also involves developing and managing the supplier base for optimized cost and supply, identifying potential suppliers, negotiating costs, terms, and conditions, and managing assigned product categories within multiple business units. The Senior Manager will lead complex negotiations, identify metrics and tools to optimize sourcing and supplier activities, and collaborate with team members on implementation. This role interfaces with plant and corporate management, as well as peers within the procurement organization. A broad understanding of financial management principles is required to ensure fiscally sound decisions. Risk management tools will be utilized to hedge prices for traded commodities, and support will be provided for the development of machine learning and AI models to improve risk management practices. The role includes developing balance table and stock-to-use analysis for assigned traded commodities and supporting the development and deployment of a global category strategy roadmap. Pricing platforms will be utilized to drive efficiencies, and the goal is to continuously reduce the total cost of procured goods and services. The Senior Manager will understand the contract process, make timely decisions to optimize pricing, and manage discussions between vendors and engineering, operating, or maintenance personnel.
