About The Position

The Senior Manager, Stewardship Operations, Quality & Evidence operates the continuous data-quality monitoring capability for enterprise planning data. The role turns ratified standards and business rules into active checks, routed flags, and decision-ready evidence, and owns the monitoring, escalation-routing, and reporting cadence that makes data-quality issues visible before they reach a finished report. It compiles evidence for the Data Stewardship Council and senior leadership to review conformance and prioritize stewardship work. Reporting to the Director, Data Stewardship, this position operationalizes the monitoring and evidence pillar of the enterprise stewardship operating model. It works closely with the Sr. Manager, Enterprise Stewardship & Standards, monitoring against that role's ratified definitions and RACI assignments. The role is based in Tarrytown, NY, or Warren, NJ, and involves 10% travel.

Requirements

  • Working knowledge of drug development, clinical/program planning, and portfolio management terminology and processes.
  • Demonstrated experience operating or administering data-quality monitoring, audit, or observability capabilities, such as automated checks, exception and alert routing, or conformance dashboards, ideally within a data governance or data management framework.
  • Skill in defining and tracking data-quality metrics against recognized dimensions and translating monitoring output into clear findings.
  • Strong evidence-based reporting skills and a proven ability to compile monitoring results into decision-ready summaries for function leads and senior leadership.
  • Excellent written communication skills, including the ability to produce clear, concise operational and trend reporting for governance and leadership review.
  • Familiarity with Planisware or comparable project/portfolio planning systems and their data-quality and reporting capabilities; ability to partner with technical teams on tool configuration without owning the underlying build.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including comfort working with large operational datasets to identify patterns and root causes.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a matrixed organization with Data Governance, Data Analytics & Data Science, Digital & Technology, and domain data stewards.
  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • At least 8 years in data management, data quality/observability operations, business analysis, or related roles, including experience operating monitoring or reporting capabilities and producing evidence for governance bodies.

  • Experience with data observability or data-quality tools such as Monte Carlo, Collibra, or Informatica.
  • Data management or governance certification, such as CDMP, and/or Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.

Responsibilities

  • Operate and continuously improve enterprise data-quality monitoring in Planisware, using its Data Quality Audit capability to configure checks against ratified definitions, business rules, and RACI assignments.
  • Continuously monitor planning data across completeness, accuracy, consistency, uniqueness, validity, and timeliness, and route flagged issues to accountable plan owners for resolution at the source.
  • Compile and maintain the monthly data-quality summary for the Data Stewardship Council, highlighting recurring issues, functional trends, and items requiring escalation.
  • Produce quarterly data-quality trend reports for senior leadership to inform prioritization of stewardship and quality initiatives.
  • Maintain an audit trail of monitoring results, flagged issues, remediation status, and outcomes to support auditability and knowledge continuity.
  • Partner with Digital & Technology to keep monitoring tools aligned with ratified standards, distinguishing tooling or system defects from data-content issues and routing them to the correct owners.
  • Track and report adoption and conformance by role—Data Creator, Curator, Enabler, and Consumer—and identify unmet expectations and follow-up needs.
  • Support the Sr. Manager, Enterprise Stewardship & Standards, and Director, Data Stewardship, in assembling monitoring evidence for decision records and escalation packages when cross-functional disagreements require Council resolution.
  • Track and report monitoring coverage and issue closure rates, contributing to the stewardship roadmap and operating-model maturity.
  • Collaborate with system Business Process Owners, such as for Planisware or Planview, and Program, Portfolio Management, and Program Management leads to ensure monitoring reflects current system configuration and use.
