About The Position

Lead Walmart’s upstream resin strategy by building supplier relationships, market intelligence, and commercial agreements that improve material cost, supply continuity, sustainability, and innovation across Private Brands and packaging. The role works at the raw-material level, connecting Walmart’s business needs with resin producers, converters, and circular-material partners. The Senior Manager leads category strategy across virgin and recycled resins, monitors commodity and capacity dynamics, and develops preferred supplier and long-term agreement opportunities. Success requires translating resin-market conditions into practical solutions that strengthen supply, improve economics, and support packaging and sustainability priorities. The Upstream Materials team develops strategies, supplier relationships, and commercial agreements for materials used in Walmart’s products and packaging, including resin, pulp, ingredients, and metals. In collaboration with Private Brands, Merchandising, Product Development, Packaging, Supply Chain, and suppliers, the team turns market insights into practical solutions. Its work includes building preferred supplier networks, establishing long-term agreements, improving material specifications, and navigating volatile commodity markets to support Walmart and Sam’s Club business objectives.
