About The Position

The Senior Manager, Software Engineering leads platform-level execution of software and AI/ML systems, ensuring alignment with strategic priorities and roadmap milestones. This role oversees shared infrastructure, tooling, and frameworks to support scalable, secure development while driving full lifecycle management across multiple teams. The position champions DevOps practices, cloud cost optimization, and technical excellence, fostering collaboration across engineering, product, and data teams. With a focus on innovation, operational delivery, and mentorship, this leader ensures high system availability, architectural integrity, and continuous improvement aligned with business objectives. Immigration Sponsorship support will NOT be available for this position. Our team develops and maintains the Store Fulfillment Platform, a critical system enabling efficient order fulfillment across thousands of stores through automation and associate support. We focus on scalable, cloud-native architecture and continuous enhancement to meet evolving business needs. Leveraging advanced engineering design and AI integration, we deliver reliable, high-throughput solutions that support seamless customer experiences. Requirements

  • Proven leadership experience in platform engineering and software development lifecycle management.
  • Expertise in DevOps architecture, CI/CD practices, and cloud-native platform design.
  • Strong skills in project and stakeholder management, driving complex technical initiatives to completion.
  • Proficiency in AI/ML system integration and collaboration with cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to mentor and develop engineering talent, fostering technical excellence and innovation.
  • Experience with cloud financial management and cost optimization strategies.
  • Sound technical judgment with a focus on scalability, maintainability, and performance.
  • Effective communication skills to align engineering efforts with business goals.
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, computer information systems, software engineering, or related area and 5 years’ experience in software engineering or related area.
  • OR 7 years’ experience in software engineering or related area.
  • 2 years’ supervisory experience.

  • Master’s degree in computer science, computer engineering, computer information systems, software engineering, or related area and 3 years' experience in software engineering or related area.
  • Background in creating inclusive digital experiences, demonstrating knowledge in implementing Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 AA standards, assistive technologies, and integrating digital accessibility seamlessly.

Responsibilities

  • Drive full software development lifecycle, championing DevOps practices, CI/CD, and cloud cost optimization.
  • Collaborate with product, data science, and engineering teams to deliver AI-integrated features and intelligent automation.
  • Mentor engineers, promote technical quality, and guide architectural decisions for maintainability and performance.
  • Manage stakeholder relationships, track metrics, and ensure timely delivery of complex technical initiatives.
  • Foster continuous improvement through innovation, automation, and effective project management.
