Reporting to the Director, Occupational Health and Safety, the Senior Manager, Safety and Prevention: Develops, implements, and evaluates goals and objectives for the Safety, Occupational Hygiene, Violence Prevention, and Musculoskeletal Injury Prevention programs in alignment with the strategic goals and objective of Providence Health Care (PHC). Develops and administers the implementation of safety and prevention programs, initiatives and services aimed at promoting a proactively healthy and safe environment for staff, volunteers, physicians, visitors and patients/residents while ensuring compliance with and interpreting legislation, organizational policies and standards, collective agreements and other legal obligations of PHC to ensure consistent and accurate application/administration. Oversees the Safety & Hygiene, Violence Prevention, and MSIP teams and leads the development and implementation of PHC safety policies, programs and services and develops effective employee event reporting systems. Manages the interface between PHC, WorkSafe BC, Doctors of BC, Radiation Safety Board, Occupational Health & Safety Agency for Healthcare in BC and represents PHC. Oversees and/or develops injury prevention programs, education and orientation programs; and monitors key indicators and reports to management. Develops strategies for communicating and promoting health and safety issues and initiatives. Represents PHC on related industry committees such as the OHS Strategies & Oversight Committee.
