About The Position

The Senior Manager, Retail Innovation & Analytics is a strategic consumer insights leader responsible for advancing consumer centered, data-driven decision-making across Domestics Parks Retail and the Disney Store retail ecosystem. This role translates guest behavior and analytics into clear strategy, actionable insights, and measurable business outcomes that enhance both business performance and the guest experience. The ideal candidate is an analytical and strategic thinker with a passion for understanding guest behavior, solving complex problems, and challenging conventional approaches. They bring a strong ability to translate insights into action, align cross-functional teams, and ensure that consumer perspectives are embedded in key business decisions. Partnering closely with leaders across CIMA, DCP, Merchandising, Product Design, Marketing, and Operations, this role ensures consumer insights are embedded in strategic planning, innovation, and execution across retail environments. The position plays a critical role in scaling consumer-centric thinking and driving alignment across cross-functional teams to deliver meaningful and sustained impact.

Requirements

  • College Degree in Marketing, Psychology, Statistics, or related field
  • 10+ years of primary market research experience required, managing custom research (across both qualitative and quantitative studies) and working with syndicated research
  • Minimum 7 years of experience with project management and data analysis, including the ability to manage multiple priorities, stakeholders, projects, and deadlines simultaneously
  • Able to synthesize a lot of information into a highly visual, concise story leveraging tools such as PowerPoint or Keynote
  • Experience in managing and/or directing external research agencies
  • Possesses an enthusiastic and positive “can do” outlook, even when under pressure
  • Comfortable working within a fluid and flexible culture; adjusts well to change and/or shifting priorities
  • Strong analytical skills –familiarity with SPSS is required

Responsibilities

  • Drive the Parks retail consumer insights strategy, advising senior stakeholders across Merchandising, Marketing, Product, Design, and Operations.
  • Transition insights from project-based efforts into scalable, embedded capabilities that inform annual planning, peak season strategy, and long-range growth.
  • Serve as the central voice of the consumer for Parks and Stores, ensuring insights are consistently represented at the enterprise level.
  • Develop and own executive-facing performance tools, including dashboards, KPIs, and operating cadences.
  • Lead development and implementation of consumer segmentation across Parks retail.
  • Translate complex segmentation into clear, actionable frameworks for cross-functional teams.
  • Validate and continuously refine guest personas using existing and emerging insights.
  • Drive adoption of segmentation in merchandising
  • Use primary and secondary research on consumer trends, consumption habits, preferences, and behaviors to tell a holistic story that provides objective, clear and applicable insight to partners across the organization
  • Establish early-stage guest feedback approaches to inform product and experience direction earlier in development.
  • Lead testing and validation efforts across key initiatives to assess concepts, refine strategies, and reduce downstream risk.
  • Ensure teams are equipped to apply insights in practical ways that improve decision quality and execution.
  • Support and manage internal ad-hoc requests and business questions by analyzing a variety of data sets (across both primary and syndicated sources as needed) and then summarizing and communicating key insights.
