This role involves leading, coaching, and developing Managers of Residential Operations and Direct Support Professionals to create an environment where individuals and teams can thrive. The Senior Manager will partner with operational leaders, human resources, quality, and nursing to support various aspects of staff management, including hiring, onboarding, mentoring, training, engagement, recognition, and accountability. They will identify training and development needs, facilitate meetings, and ensure follow-through on expectations related to trainings, documentation, staffing, quality, and compliance. This position also serves as an escalation resource for various stakeholders when local leadership efforts are not successful, demonstrating positive leadership behaviors and promoting collaboration, accountability, transparency, and continuous improvement. Program leadership includes ensuring the consistent implementation of AbleLight operating procedures and regulatory requirements across assigned homes. The role involves monitoring operational performance, staffing, training compliance, documentation, facilities/property needs, and budget expectations. Support for state licensing surveys, including participation in meetings and corrective action plans, is also a key responsibility. The Senior Manager will partner with managers to ensure timely and accurate documentation in various systems and bring forward recommendations for improving quality, processes, employee experience, and services. In terms of person-centered care and services, the Senior Manager will support managers in delivering care aligned with ISP/PSP expectations and the needs of those supported. This includes promoting strong communication with individuals, families, external providers, and internal partners. Assistance with Medicaid redeterminations, renewals, admissions, and other required service documentation is expected. The role also involves assisting the Director of Residential Operations with residential growth priorities, balanced scorecard results, and operational readiness.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience required/preferred.
  • Three to five years of previous experience in a work position, volunteer/community role, or educational setting focused on serving and helping others.
  • Three or more years of leadership experience in a related field, including experience leading supervisors, managers, or residential teams.
  • Ability to be flexible on hours and residential settings in your local community to assist colleagues and those we serve.

Responsibilities

  • Lead, coach, and develop Manager(s) of Residential Operations and Direct Support Professionals to create an environment where individuals and teams can thrive.
  • Partner with operational leaders, human resources, quality, and nursing to support hiring, onboarding, mentoring, training, engagement, recognition, and accountability.
  • Identify additional training and development needs for all staff as part of Quarterly Connections, coaching in the moment for performance.
  • Facilitate regular manager and team meetings and ensure follow-through on required trainings, documentation, staffing, quality, and compliance expectations.
  • Identify barriers, support resolution, and help managers achieve strong employee engagement and operational results.
  • Serve as an escalation resource for Managers, DSPs, Lead DSPs, people supported, parents, and guardians when local leadership efforts are not successful.
  • Demonstrate positive leadership behaviors and promote collaboration, accountability, transparency, and continuous improvement.
  • Ensure standard AbleLight operating procedures and applicable state, local, and federal requirements are implemented consistently across assigned homes.
  • Monitor operational performance, staffing, training compliance, documentation, facilities/property needs, and budget-related expectations within scope.
  • Support preparation for and participation in state licensing surveys, walk-throughs, exit meetings, corrective action plans, and required responses.
  • Partner with managers to ensure timely, comprehensive, and objective documentation in health information, human resources, and financial systems.
  • Bring recommendations forward to improve quality, processes, employee experience, and services for people supported.
  • Support managers in delivering person-centered care and services aligned with ISP/PSP expectations and the needs of people supported.
  • Promote strong communication and collaboration with people supported, parents and guardians, external providers, nursing, quality, and operational partners.

  • Assist the Director of Residential Operations with residential growth priorities, balanced scorecard results, and operational readiness within assigned scope.
