About The Position

Novelis is a global leader in aluminum recycling and rolling, providing sustainable aluminum solutions. The Finance and Accounts team in Atlanta, GA, is seeking a Senior Manager, Region Inventory. This role is responsible for the month-end close process for North America Cost accounting and Inventory, financial analysis, and supervision of the North America Inventory Team. The position also manages the accounting for tolling and warehousing transactions, including forecasting, recording actuals, and reporting. This role collaborates with Plant Controllers, AP, FP&A, Treasury Operations, commercial, Supply chain, and Operations. Key responsibilities include closing Oracle and SAP systems for Inventory monthly and ensuring timely and accurate booking of transactions in accordance with GAAP, working closely with corporate consolidations, treasury, and operations departments.

Requirements

  • Bachelor or Master degree in Accounting/Finance.
  • Working knowledge of US GAAP and SOX is a must.
  • Hyperion and SAP or other coordinated system experience.
  • Strong command of MS Office tools, mainly Excel.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate with all levels in the organization in a collaborative matrix environment.
  • Strong analytical and financial modeling skills.
  • Excellent organizational and project management skills and ability to multi-task in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Creative and innovative teammate with a positive approach and a focus on business issues.
  • Willingness to seek additional projects and multi-task with changing priorities, as necessary.
  • Proven ability to meet tight deadlines with emphasis on sustained accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for current or future sponsorship.

Nice To Haves

  • Professional qualification in accounting (CPA), preferred.
  • Experience in / Previous exposure to audit field and corporate accounting, preferred.
  • Knowledge of IFRS and Indian GAAP is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Complete the monthly close process for North America Inventory accounting.
  • Proper recording of all expenses and accruals.
  • Intra & inter-company balancing with other locations.
  • Assist with FLASH report for senior management.
  • Completion of balance sheet reconciliations.
  • P&L non metal and metal change in inventory.
  • Quarterly reporting support for SEC and the Parent Company (Hindalco).
  • Review of monthly account reconciliations.
  • Controller for tolling and warehousing organization with responsibility for forecasting, reporting actual, and variance analysis.
  • Key liaison with external auditor (PwC) by providing analytics and documentation for audit request.
  • Review reconciliations for completeness and accuracy.
  • Work with supply chain and metal procurement to ensure tolling transactions are accounted for and reported accurately.
