About The Position

The Senior Manager, Quebec Claims is accountable for leading the performance, technical excellence, and strategic direction of the Claims function across Quebec. This role drives operational effectiveness, ensures compliance with regulatory and company standards, and delivers high-quality claims outcomes that support organizational profitability and customer experience. As a key leader, you will provide technical expertise on complex claims, build strong internal and external partnerships, and contribute to business growth through collaboration with underwriting and senior leadership. You will play a critical role in developing talent, strengthening claims operations, and ensuring readiness to support the evolving complexity and scale of the business.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of progressive experience in commercial insurance claims, including leadership responsibilities.
  • Licensed with the AMF.
  • CIP or FCIP designation (or equivalent).
  • Advanced technical expertise across commercial lines of business, including complex and large loss claims.
  • Demonstrated leadership experience with a strong track record of team development and performance management.
  • Strong business acumen with the ability to align claims operations to organizational strategy and financial outcomes.
  • Proven ability to build and maintain effective relationships with internal stakeholders and external partners.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and decision-making skills in a complex, fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in both English and French is essential to the main duties in this role, including servicing and communicating primarily with majority anglophone and francophone clients, groups, and teams. The essential non-French duties are not assignable to adjacent or other team members.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and develop a high-performing claims team, fostering a culture of accountability, engagement, and continuous improvement.
  • Deliver strong claims outcomes by providing expert guidance on complex files and ensuring consistent application of technical standards.
  • Drive operational excellence through effective claims oversight, cost management, and process optimization.
  • Build and strengthen relationships with brokers, partners, and key stakeholders to support retention and new business growth.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies through governance, audits, and quality controls.
  • Contribute to strategic initiatives and organizational growth by providing subject matter expertise and leadership support.
  • Overseeing the claims team, on large complex files and liaise with the National Claims Operations on files exceeding office authority participating in meetings, mediations, trials, and Examinations for Discovery.
